My gut feeling is that Jujutsu Kaisen will be going in the DWT for Universal Fan nights 2025. Image the show that was somewhat recently done over at USJ, albeit scaled up to take advantage of the projection mapping capabilities of the venue.

They are building a giant coaster and a new theme park. Give them a break.

I mean, it is a flex theater that has hosted several shows, including Late Night with Chucky and the Blumhouse Behind the Screams thing. It's also been used for non-public, employee-driven events.

I get you guys are antsy for a new daytime show, but Kung Fu Panda still gets solid attendance and GSATs.

I mean it’s constantly a walk on besides super busy days

Also we have nothing next year, this would be an easy win but doubt it.

Also even if it left they could bring it bs k for lunar new years

It's a high capacity people eater, which every park needs. Again, it has solid attendance. It isn't playing to empty crowds.

We have nothing next year because the coaster is taking a bit longer than expected. Softs in mid-late Q4 are still not out of the question. Planning and executing an expensive new animated film is not something that can just happen in less than a year, so it's moot.

I don't disagree that they couldn't eventually produce a new film and rotate it with Kung Fu Panda (i.e. how Soarin operates in CA), but you guys are acting like it's way easier and cheaper than it actually is. You're also underestimating Panda's popularity with guests, which is part of why it hasn't been a priority.

Now that FFN (and technically HHN) have proven that they can change the video and seat motion profiles on the fly, I'm surprised Universal hasn't considered doing rotating films for this place or something like that. At the very least they could try doing Kung Fu Panda in the day and maybe Shrek 4D at night (probably just title it "Shrek: The Ghost of Lord Farquaad" like some home releases of it). Not sure if that'd disrupt how it's already a decent time killer and crowd sink, but it's just a thought.

I said this awhile ago but I think they should do a Universal Monsters themed show in there during HHN. Whether it's a video or an actual show with actors, it would be really popular imo.

I will continue my likely impossible, but brilliant idea, to play key segments of The Tingler --the legendary LSD trip portion, and the "Percepto" shocking seats portion when the Tingler is loose in the theater.

Agreed

This theater seems to be able to do many different kinda shows....so lets go

It would be nice even if For the summer event to have Panda open until 5 PM then at 6 PM- closing it reopens as a Jurassic World experience to hype people up for the new film

Really at this point anything could go there and it would not just be interesting but get lines JJK and the last two years of having HHN shows there show people are interested

Opened in 2018... only took 5 years to actually implement its "flex space" design purpose

isn’t the hold up actually creating an additional film to flex into this space? not the flexing part?

Yeah, animation=$$$. UOR not getting it doesn’t help either. That’s a lot of money to sink into a relatively minor attraction

Just realized you haven’t posted in a long time! Welcome back!

I know another screenz attraction is not what USF needs, but that’s the only screenz attraction it could use! Would’ve been a better replacement for Shrek 4D than Villain Con IMO.

I know they haven’t put a new film in there but so far it has fulfilled its role as a flex venue. It’s being used as a show venue for the hard-ticketed events.

The big mistake for the flex-venue space was probably the presumption that all flex videos had to have feature animation levels of quality when, as FFN and Cool Japan show, you can probably get more use out of your flex space with cheaper but more consistent turn-overs that target different fan bases and IPs throughout the year.

The Conan and Jujutsu Kaisen shows from USJ don't have animation that matches the quality of a film, but their more popular due to the understanding that their limited time experiences featuring popular characters that will likely be gone during your next visit to the park.
