pretty huge improvement over what was there before and (at least, in my opinion) a massive improvement over blaze. i've only been to one of these slice shops and it was located in a suburban strip mall, so it's not seeing anywhere near the kind of traffic you'd expect at citywalk (uh, toothsome excluded, i guess). it'll be interesting to see how those large crowds are handled.

On the one hand great love something is coming...on the other its so hard for me to buy Pizza at USH when its like the same price for one slice as it is for a full pizza a mile or two away but enjoy those who go here

The original one in North Beach SF and the pickup window in Downtown LV are no strangers to crowds waiting for their slices!

haha i'm well aware! but these slice shops are a franchised version of the original location -- the las vegas location is also owned by tony. i don't doubt these franchises can be well positioned to deal with mega crowds, but i don't think they've built one in such a high-traffic area just yet.

edit: apparently there's one in the raiders stadium in las vegas, so, uh, never mind!

Oh snap, I didn’t realize the distinction.

Getting food at Allegiant is kinda a disaster, so it may prove your point.

They also have a location in Burbank, just outside the AMC.

Curious how quickly they'll be able to gut the designated location & have this new eatery open.

If i have to go try it at Burbank, there's a very good chance I'll end up in the mall & Barnes/Nobles o_O

Expect yet another closure at CityWalk soon.

fortune.com

So long, Billabong. Virtually all Quiksilver, Billabong, and Volcom stores are shutting down in the U.S., and roughly 1,400 employees will be laid off

It's the latest in a string of retail bankruptcy filings.

  • Virtually all Quiksilver, Billabong and Volcom stores in the U.S. are closing. The shutdown comes as parent company Liberated Brands has filed for bankruptcy. The brands will continue to be sold, however, as licenses have been transferred to another company.

Shame for the layoffs as I hope people get back on their feet quick. I wonder if USH is gonna morph Billabong and Popcornopolis to become a new flagship Universal Studios Store.

Been wondering if they’d make a play to do it there, or at Abercrombie & Fitch; as it’d make sense to have a bigger store.

Sparky’s SF/Trish’s has officially deleted CityWalk Sparky’s from the menu. RIP King. May the next San Francisco-based eatery honor your legacy.

The Epic Universe store on Citywalk is just so out of place and makes no sense. Visiting this store would make me not want to go to Epic Universe.

No, but actually, though. You get the feeling that some executive was sitting quietly in his office and then just whispered the word synergy to himself before hastily scrawling the idea on the back of a post-it and passing it off to his execution team. I think if it had a larger space, if they could do something closer to the Epic Universe Preview Center in Orlando, with a model or even any information at all about the park, it would be so much better. I would literally spent hours staring at this model, even if it were a fifth of the size.

But as it is right now, it's just like "Yup, that park's gonna have some Universal Monsters stuff, so... wanna buy a Bride of Frankenstein backpack?"

I do agree having that model would be quite a draw. And they don't really need it in Orlando anymore, do they? So I don't see why they wouldn't send it over here. Especially since I probably won't be going for another year anyway

They may as well just left the Abercrombie store open if that's the case.
