People will see an Avengers movie no matter what. It’s about how many repeat viewings they get. I am not delusional enough to think that this movie will perform as well monetarily as the other films, although part of that is simply a change of viewing habits. But these Avengers films also, as of right now, feel less consequential.

Honestly, we've seen stranger box office flops or disappointments in the past few years. I would not at all be surprised to see a new Avengers film come out and just,, not make a huge splash? Some people see it and say it's mid, and then everyone waits for it to show up on Disney+. It's happened to Jurassic, F&tF, DCEU, Potter, Pixar and Disney Animation, etc.

Marvel Shocker: Russo Bros. in Talks to Direct Next Two ‘Avengers’ Movies (Exclusive)

Just when you (and the Russos themselves, quite frankly) thought they were out, Kevin Feige is pulling them back in.
www.hollywoodreporter.com www.hollywoodreporter.com

The russos are potentially back for not only Avengers 5, but for Secret Wars.

It's a safe choice--but if I am being honest: this should've been the choice from day one and it's not even close.

They made the biggest movie in box office history up to that point and now they're taking the gig that Shawn Levy turned down.

Its the best bet for these films to make money

And I would not call the last 4 MCU films they made boring they are leagues above what the MCU is now. The last two Avengers films somehow mixed in so many characters and worlds but it felt nature and Infinity war pacing is insane...I can watch that thing a million times and never get bored

Bringing up from Daniel RPK--longtime colloborators of the Russos, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will apparently return to help write the screenplay.

Infinity War is top tier between the pacing and the sense of dread with the ending. I was addicted. I remember I had MoviePass at the time, I watched that movie an UNGODLY amount of times in theaters.

My hot take is that these two writers deserve a lot more credit for the success of the Russos' MCU films than the Russos themselves.

And what the Russos have done since leaving the MCU supports that position, I think.

They’re quite frankly the only ones I trust to bring a much-maligned saga (and in the case of Avengers 5, having to redo the entire movie) to a conclusion worth watching.

Interesting choice to have RDJ is come back as a villain. I wonder if this version of Doctor Doom used to be Iron Man perhaps...

I think it’s probably another earth’s Tony Stark who turns out to be Doom.
