This. They may offer ridiculous discounts, but the base prices will almost never go down. You may see more of the "Get x months free with a Coke purchase" promo at Publix (with, say, 6 months free instead of the usual 3) or % off room discounts that seem unexpectedly steep if things get bad, but the base price is almost never truly lowered.
