It would be difficult to do, but couldn't there theoretically be 2 houses in the new parade building?

For sure. They could construct half of the event's houses in that parade building, if the only thing they had to worry about was the house itself. But, you need space for storage, break space for the actors and tech, offices for production teams to run their houses smoothly... PLUS queue lines. One house back there is already pretty tight.

One thing that really stood out last year was that USF was bursting at the seams with crowds. Even with every house, food stand, ride queue filled up, the park was packed. I've championed in the past "expanding" the park by moving out the house entrance back into backstage areas/gates so they can organize the house entrances much better and give a bit more breathing room to the scare zones.

Yeah for sure - but when I mentioned another house going in there, I kinda meant all that stuff too lol

Over on the discord apparently two clues have been solved. #1 Invasion is going to be a house #2 There will be 11 houses. I don’t know how real this is as I don’t stay up to date on the discord and HHN365 tweeted it which is how I saw it. To me 11 houses doesn’t seem likely.

11 houses could either lead to streets being less crowded because you have an extra 600 guests waiting in line for a house, which is good.

or

Houses are emptier and ops struggles even more than last year with understaffing, which is bad.

I’d would take an eleventh house If they’re improving the staff right now, but there would be more problems with the crowds.

On first thought 11 houses seem like a good idea but then I think about staffing. Seems like every year now they have trouble staffing just 10 houses. Maybe that’s just bc people quit after night after night of being mistreated by unruly and drunk guest and hiring for it will be no issue.

IF they're doing 11 houses, I'd imagine they're confident in their ability to get people on board and have a quick turnaround rate for replacements if necessary. From what I understand, they're really taking their sins from last year's operations into account when designing/working out HHN32. They don't seem averse to increasing pay/benefits or whatever it'll take to get talent on board consistently. I wouldn't worry too much.

I mean the same can be said about having 10 houses in past years and they usually are understaffed. May not be in the beginning but by the end it is.

HHN does have a new team and new head since Mike went to EU and Charles Gray is the new head(by my understanding, correct me if I’m wrong) so maybe that will help but I don’t see that helping much. As most issues come from people quitting.

This is what I'm thinking. I mentioned it before, but Universal announced pay raises as well as a lot of new employee benefits. I would not be surprised if they're rolling out special incentives/bonuses for HHN.

Fair, honestly.

I feel like their main plan of attack needs to be to work out a system for having an army of backup talent/understudies so this issue doesn't prevail into this year.

But I'm not the business major in charge of a billion dollar company, hahah, so I very well am probably spouting nonsense. I just mean to say I (maybe foolishly) believe they have a reason to be confident in their staffing abilities IF we are getting 11 houses.

Most houses (with Weeknd/Halloween being an exception last year) were all walk-ons even on the busiest nights during the first and last hour, hence my hesitation on an 11th house.

What HHN would truly benefit from is an additional stage show, and maybe one day, another roller coaster to distribute crowds. (I specifically mention a coaster since Transformers doesn't really pull people in during the event.)

I think, an "11th house" should be built for the most popular IP with "dueling" layouts... especially if Stranger Things ever returns.

You're going to get an 11th house and ET and you are gonna LIKE IT

In all seriousness, I'd like to see them add another show but I don't know how/where they would do it. Animal Actors is possible but that area would be an absolute nightmare with a show going on. Plus, Animal Actors still seems to garner a decent crowd during the day.

If the 11 house rumor is true, I'm guessing it'll be a 6/5 IP Original split?

Let's all just take a breath and let things filter in and out a bit more.

Maybe wires got crossed and they're actually doing an 11th Hour house. I can't see how they don't eventually. Who wouldn't want a house based on the tepid follow up to Trilobyte's 1993 game The 7th Guest?
I mean, it was released on CD Rom. Pretty big deal.

Seriously though, I'll believe things when things are believable.

At least it's March.

Well, dates and single night tickets went on sale 3/24 last year. So.. we shouldn't be too far off from SOMETHING.

One thing I wish we'd go back to.. individual announcements for originals.

Something interesting I came across when reading about Erik(the Phantom of the Opera) is that he sleeps in a coffin like a vampire. Got me thinking maybe we r getting a phantom house and the phantom/Dracula rumor started bc of the whole coffin sleeping.

We went through monsters 5/6 times, and I think only saw a Dracula maybe 4 times total, and only saw more than 1 in the same run ONCE.

Often times his spot was just empty.

And we had a really bad weeknd run where it felt like half the house was empty. Just walking through a bunch of empty rooms with music.

But in both cases the bad runs were typically during stay and scream early open so maybe that played into it.

The great Nihilist cipher has been conquered!

1677706342664.png

Plugging in the book names as keys, they lead to state abbreviations, which of course lead back to union numbers and ISBN. Will update this as the right books are found.

Clue 1: Devil Dogs (tossed)
Clue 2: Japanese Creatures (tossed)
Clue 3 (Hollywood): Hollywood Harry (tossed)
Clue 4: Invasion
Clue 5 (Hollywood): Nightingales
