Now that they have free cubbies, I’ve been hearing 30 min or less.

Went tonight, peeling paint everywhere just before the lockers. So sad for a new ride operating under a week. Where are all the palm trees seen in the concept art? Line moved very slow (in comparison to my experience at Jersey Devil at SF Great Adventure); I noticed many parties refusing to sit in a different trains resulting in empty seats. Posted wait of 20 mins ended up being in the 40s.

SFMM used to have this problem, but the area around the park has become much more upscale and trendy, and there are curfews and heavy police presence.

30-45 mins for a brand new ride during peak summer at SFMM sounds like heaven. There's older rides that'll be 3 hours sometimes for zero reason.
Debating on going to check it out...

I'm not surprised about the paint peeling... thats what happens when you do a rush job in 90+ degree heat without primer or a 2nd coat. If they hadn't forced the ride open before it was actually ready, this wouldn't be an issue.

I want to take a trip up to the park, but the weather is not very motivating for a concrete desert.

Just rode again this weekend and the paint peeling is getting worse, people are scratching their names into the walls now, and more queue damage. The new cubbies are just awkwardly placed in front of the paid lockers leaving even less room to navigate. Seems management just abandoned this ride once it opened. Still lots to do around the land, gift shop, and ride exit.

I love this park so much. I have learned to deal with it’s inconsistency’s and enjoy all the great rides. The thing is no one cares how the queues look. Just weirdos on the internet.

That's not true because ride queues are part of the park appearance & quality. It can & will reflect negatively on the park.

Also, being normal is vastly overrated!

Just for a fun throwback, here's a video I was obsessed with as a kid & was the reason I always dreamed of going to Magic Mountain one day (since I didn't grow up in CA)
It's 22mins, it's full of cheesy cringe, but showcases 1988/1989 Magic Mountain (just before Viper). ENJOY!

That video rocks. Also they should definitely rebuild the monorail. I still weep when I pass the tracks by Superman/swashbuckler.

Like I agree sometimes we fans go overboard but if they don't want to have themed DC rides then give the rights up

Universal or someone would put effort into DC lands, rides and area's

Everytime I walk through the area I hear guests saying how nice and clean the new area is, and how good the ride is...

Then I get on the internet and the enthusiasts are complaining non stop about it. There really is a disconnect somewhere lol

These same people probably think Walmart is on the same level of Versace :chainsaw:

When I worked at the park, I realized that I cared more about the park than management. Simple changes, whether cheap or expensive, would drastically improve the quality.

^ While I agree with you, I also think there is something else at play. After a horrible last couple of years, people simply want to have fun. Things like theming and landscaping are certainly important, and Lord knows SFMM needs alot of work. But in the larger scheme of things, complaining about paint peeling seems more like first world problems.

I've seen more families at SFMM than I've ever seen before, just laughing and spending time together.

Now would be a great time for SFMM to get their act together and start pulling money into beautifying the park. While people are distracted by Wonder Woman and everyone is in post lockdown goodwill mode. If Kings Island can come back from the brink of disaster to actually become one of the countries best parks, anything is possible.

Ironically, you'd see those same families crying together due to not being able to afford Disneyland! :ears:

SFMM is significantly cheaper for families despite having very little to offer the entire family

Very true. Which is why there is an opportunity here, if only Six Flags would take it.

I think all those families are at Knott’s. It’s the cheapest of all the local parks, in terms of APs (especially the top level tier). Think it’s a bit underpriced, really.

It's only cheap to enter the park, once inside everything is overpriced to make up for it

And don't you dare use the word underpriced for any theme park. They don't need encouragement to raise prices for anything!
