With everyone talking about the drop of attendance yet the parks still feeling overcrowded, I see this year as the perfect one to try the dual park approach.

I think they could block off the area outside BMG and use it as the connection point and perhaps put a scare zone there. That would also be a good space for a walk up show since it’s a giant parking lot. Also if a show goes into the BMG theater blocking off that area would be useful.

Problem is you can put anything scary in Seuss Landing and Harry Potter, so I’d just keep half the park open. I haven’t been to IOA in forever but does the new coaster have a path that allows guests to bypass HPW? That could be a good way to complete a loop and not have a dead end in Jurassic park.

As I said in my initial spec, the return of a 2 park event feels highly unlikely for the near future. I'd even argue keeping the second Shrek theater as flex space is proof Universal is committed to HHN at USF alone for a while.

It’s unrealistic to expect a 2-park event happening again. They’re not going to shut down IOA early for HHN.

I have always had a little bit if hope for HHN at Islands (dual park or whatever) , always had that little sparkle of hope in my heart. I never experienced hhn at Islands. just once, just one year I wish we got it again. just to see how it was. (and there's very little footage online of hhn pre 2006. )

but after 2012 or whenever it was the year that the idea of a two park event was shut down, I lost all hope. I think it was 2012 or a year around that time when there were rumors that they were thinking of the two park event or something, I remember reading something like this. but if it didn't happen then, is probably never gonna happen...
it doesn't make sense financially and they wouldn't close Islands no matter how crowded it gets at the other park. they wouldn't close both parks for hhn when they can sell more tickets for Islands those days
and everyone always complains on how much walking and dead space there was. everybody. most people don't even have fond memories of the ioa years. I only hear complaints.

so even if uni did a survey about hhn at islands, people that visited before 2005 would just complain.
if you combine the financial situation of the tickets with the narrow paths of Islands, the lack of places for zones at Islands, the long walks, and the bad experience people had.
it would literally be impossible for hhn at Islands to ever happen.... even if uni wanted it, it would probably be trashed to death on Twitter by today's crowds.
I could just imagine today's audiences complaining about a two park event......
:grumble:

I've said this before recently, but the bigger issue with Islands - in my view - is there's nowhere to put any attractions. Yes, any zones will be clogged with people (think San Francisco + Central Park). But where are the mazes going to go? Carnage Warehouse? Popeye queue? Most layouts I see being proposed only use the right side of the park, and you can't do anything in Seuss Landing. In those years, the best houses were in soundstages, not the facilities specific to Islands. Having access to the Toon Lagoon stage would be nice, but again... wrong side of the park.

Layout-wise, it just doesn't work.

I’m interested to see what they’ll do in terms of expanding HHN’s presence at the hotels. The Icons Bar certainly seemed to be doing well when I was at Cabana Bay, and it’s a pretty easy way to milk in more alcohol profits.

If ST4 comes, I’d imagine that’ll be the mini-walkthrough in Cabana this year, but it’d be fun to see the other hotels get some shine.

One idea I had after seeing some people do this opening weekend (and this is a bit more wish than speculation) is Halloween/HHN themed hotel rooms. I’m sure there’s a market out there if you took a couple dozen rooms and put up some decor, almost like a smaller-scale version of the Minions/Jurassic themed rooms.

Yeah, the bottom level of the Discovery Center or Thunder Falls is not going to cut it lol

I think people have forgotten or never experienced what having HHN was like at IOA

Fun and unique when the park was new and the event was about a 1/4th of the attendance

Today, probably chaos

To add, UO was nowhere near the resort it is today (at least in perception)...

I would argue that it's important to have a free park open for a few more hours to satisfy the resort guests who may not be there just for HHN

The only way I could see it working at IOA is if they installed some sprung tents backstage...but backstage at IOA is becoming sparse

"Two park HHN" is one of those fan wants that when you actually start thinking about it doesn't make sense. I also think HHN stays at USF for quite awhile, I know some who think the vent will move to Epic Universe for some reason.

Let's face it: If we were going to have a two-park event, 30 would've been the year to do it. It's not gonna happen at this point.

A lot of people/fans don’t take the time to really think about the complicated logistics of the event. The fact that it has miles of queue for houses and takes up nearly an acre of space for the houses themselves isn’t a focus. When they ask for the event back at IoA, it’s without consideration that—across 2002 to 2005—only 6 house locations where located “inside” Islands. All but one were crammed into day-time guests areas. Two (or three) are no longer usable because new construction removed queue space (Kong sits where Thunder Falls Terrace entered; VelociCoaster removed a house location and queue for Visitor Center). People asking for Islands don’t realize they’re asking to close an entire park for one warehouse (smaller than both parades), and a couple of Jaws-queue house locations. All for zones that are about the size of San Fran/Central Park.

Studios has the infrastructure for the current event, and expansion. The soundstages themselves (which are infinitely more accessible from Studios than Islands because of the Hard Rock/Toothsome service road) can support about a dozen houses (if they wanted to). 108 (new parade) could hold FOUR (with a hellacious hike). Then there are the creative spots (I’m waiting for a new HR/Costuming building + secondary service entrance backstage which would open a crap-ton of space behind Diagon).

HHN’s home is the Studios. It won’t move.

I hope it never moves to Epic

Much like IOA, the park design really doesn't allow for HHN to run properly

I feel like MOAR HOUSEZ is something we throw around, but it seems like the easier answer

Especially as Studios continues to expand

I'd rather they spend 11th house budget on improving zones/park atmosphere.

Remember the early days (late 00’s/early 10’s) when you would not get a single announcement until August at the earliest? Makes me lol at the people that are upset that it’s May and they only got one house announcement.

yeah I agree.
I know space is a problem and I know logistics are a problem and the daytime parade kinda ruins anything for hhn,

but I miss when they did more stuff outside like Death drums or whatever it was called.
I'm not saying I want more icon shows in a stage, but I wish scarezones had more shows in them or I wish stuff like the rat lady came back or maybe magic tricks in the zones or maybe have a metal band playing in a zone real music (like in a new York scarezone) I always wish that a new York zone had like a band or horror theme singers or something like Vamp but with real music or stuff. or a metal singer or something.
seek and destroy had a great stage but the actors just stayed around not doing much.

imagine a zone in the style of rob zombie but in new York with let's say 4 or 5 performances per night or something.

I don't know, my ideas are dumb and just on the top of my head, but I wish the streets had more flair, or more performances, the stages in Eddie's zone were great. but I wish there was more stuff like when Jack had the megaphone in there.
I don't know, just something cool. the chucky stage was pretty funny. Vanity Ball stage was pretty fun.
Im not saying more full shows like academy of villains outside in a big stage but I wish the streets had more smaller shows. that would be better than another house.
