Hopefully! It just struck me as odd to prominently include such an individual who - if the ride is going to have any legitimate oomph - probably won't be able to ride the attraction.

This ride flies along at speeds of physics a child will never be able to comprehend the danger. Completely different than a slowly approaching shark hunting your boat. Children are terrified of the boogeyman and yet find a fast moving car comforting and giggle worthy. Kong is a boogeyman too... see what I mean?

I had forgotten about that element and the steep hills well featured in the movie, The Rock. That could make it a supremely better attraction than Hollywood. And the trolleys. Hmmm...

Do you recall Bullitt with Steve McQueen. That was the Fast & Furious of our time as it sped down Telegraph Hill (?) in a mad (dog) dash of fame.

I see the point, and I get that I'm most likely being too literal with the concept art, but the kid depicted would probably not even meet the height requirements for E.T. or Cat in the Hat. I'm just hoping that doesn't foreshadow a Kong-360-esque (or Hollywood F&F-esque) slow-moving experience where all of the speed is simulated.

Hopefully it is just some artistic license. I'm hoping for a ride that is intense and, well, fast... seeing as how that word is in the name, and all.

That's exactly what I thought ever since this rumor came out.

That picture also reminded me of Bullitt. Great movie.

So does the fact that its set in San Francisco mean that it will be an entirely new film? I don't know since I haven't watched the Hollywood version, since I'm a stickler for spoilers. But isn't the Hollywood one set in LA?

It is, but I wouldn't say it's distinctively "LA" and could be anything, really. We'll see, I would hope if they say it's set in San Fran it'll be distinctively so

No matter what; Screens will be dominant. But..with a talent of the man who brought us Gringotts and Hogwarts Express onboard; coupled with the fact that Bejing will probably get something similar as yours..I'm having some hopes here.

Beijing is an important factor here, I would assume.

Posting this here as a diversion. Every so often, I ask certain birds a question and expect an answer that I can comprehend. Today I asked such a question and received a baffling response... a full answer but I had never heard of it. I even researched it briefly to get an idea. Turns out it is somewhat older tech that has become much improved upon over the years and theme parks use it quite alot. The reason they use it could be likened to why they use actuators rather than hydraulics. But only partially... it is used in much if not all of industry in some way. It has very special characteristics.

So, this is why I love talking to the birds that I talk with. Every month or so, I ask a question and am punched in the face with an unexpected answer that is leading and fascinating.

I will tell you the tech in 6-8 months and it will be out of the blue and without fanfare. I will just look for a discussion to come up in which it works. Today is not that day. :)

Hilly terrain, cable cars, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz. Interesting possibilities.

(Oh, and since Universal owns the rights, how about a tribute to Hitchcock's Vertigo?!)

Wow. So it's official. AND confirmed to open 2017. The same year Disney is scheduled to break ground on Star Wars (for DL, WDW maybe..). Looking forward to more details about the ride system soon.

On the subject of a toddler in the queue line don't forget also that Universals Child Swap program requires everyone in the party (including infants and toddlers) to wait in the main queue until reaching the load area and they can be directed to the Child Swap room. So even though kids are in line that doesn't mean they are gonna go on the ride. It's always funny how many nasty looks my family gets when my 3 year old is waiting in a line he clearly isn't tall enough for.

Not only that but if the concept art is true and the queue will have the actual movie cars on display as part of it then like universal attractions before it the queue could possibly be an attraction in itself to see the movie cars. I know my kid would love that as he loves going to car shows with me.

I for one am very excited and look forward to hearing more about the attraction. But then again I have a personal attachment to the Furious series.

Ya Welcome.

Given the space this attraction will have, it's most likely going to be simulated.
