Us losing the IP in UBE seems to be the biggest detriment, but I suspect it has to do with wider changes being made with that IP causing the parent group to bounce away from. And Star Trek: Red Alert, costed them a lot of money for the dumbest reasons (and didn't get the best reactions to justify trying to reason Paramount to shelling out the sets again).

Sorry for being nosey but what IP was originally gonna be in the UBE? And why did Star Trek end up costing so much? If you can't share don't worry

Per my understanding for why Star Trek costed as much as it did--it was as a result of the Picard sets and how much they bloated the budget. When they boasted and made the praise and comments on how they got those sets to be part of FFN, it came with the price tag of the quality of the rooms).

Been hesitant to really talk about the IP that was planned for UBE, because I really hope it's a case to where things might realign again in the future.

The IP would've used a specific iteration of the brand that was more on the "Retro" side. AFAIK, the holders of the IP were the ones that pulled from the project it seems, as a result of shifting creative direction following a high-key project being put on indefinite hold. Hoping the IP comes back to form if we get FFN 2027 for both Hollywood and Orlando.

Very interesting, I had no idea that they used the actual Star Trek sets. I wonder if they hadn't bloated the budget of the walkthrough if this year would have had a little more. Also very interesting on the IP, I totally understand thank you for all you have shared already

Per my understanding with both the Metro Sets + Picard Sets, plus the expenses for DND, the budget for last year kind of shot itself out of the water. It's why we now have elements like Scooby-Doo/UM being in Little Europe, because it will be cheaper for them to work with the Little Europe/Court of Miracles sets rather than that of having to spend the amount it costed for Back to The Future and Courthouse Square.

It's why concepts like One Piece: Grand Pirate Show and Forbidden Forest, are actually concepts from previously (One Piece was planned to go full on last year before that got yanked, and Forbidden Forest seems to be a concept from HHN2024 being explored on for the sake of this event). They're opting to try to maximize what they can with the park as it is, while reducing spending in other fields.

It's why it's been kind of fascinating to see them not be more consistent with marketing the event. If I was Universal I would've had this flow more closer to that of how HHN operates their marketing schedules. Not letting out a majority early on, but letting things flow and be constantly appearing.

(Admittedly a part I'm actually wondering on is if this might give Universal a chance to work on Court of Miracles to restore the fountain. I believe the fountain's nearby too, so it could make sense that this might benefit the studio alongside the park).

Thats what baffles me is for now at least, this event seems to be costing less then last year.....and its cool we want them to find a balance but also if you don't pull people then the event fails and we just don't get the event

I hope it works out, I really do but I went to USH today and talked to lots of people and the hype is not there yet. People want it to be good but it's hard to market this event right now with the information and every is laughing about the Jurassic attraction because no one understands why it so underwraps

Also on the Jurrasic attraction it looks like a path is being created between the tent and space, so looks like the tent is apart of the attraction. Thats a plus if they also have a little indoors space

Happy to see this one announced. FFN getting the hallmark magical girl anime IP for FFN is unironically great.
