Old-ish movie comapared to the ones being discussed above but OPEN WATER was every bit as haunting as it was hyped to be (in large part due to the low-res quality and weirdly the soundtrack).

Send Help was soooo much fun!

Funny how it got a little "Evil Dead-esque" at the beginning of the third act, and then he turned it right around back at us again.

I loved "the look" to end the film!

Went to go see Iron Lung last night.

It’s very much a slow-burn movie. Markiplier’s acting is actually really good in this. Overall it’s not a perfect movie but it was not bad as an indie film.

It’s great to see indie filmmakers make their mark (no pun intended) in the mainstream cinemas. It was fresh to see something sincere and not fee like it was som movie just trying to check all of the corporate boxes. With all of these big studios spending hundreds of millions of dollars on flops, you’ll have to wonder if these movies will come in to keep theaters afloat, especially pending the WB buyout.

History tends to rhyme, time is a flat circle, etc. - and there's a pattern of indie film renaissances when the Hollywood studio system goes through massive cycles of disruption or collapse.

Think last year's WB renaissance and the Marty Supreme box office also has echoes of Hollywood in the 70s realizing "crap, nobody cares about our family-friendly blockbusters anymore, we need to give auteurs budgets now."

thats why it made me laugh when they say it lol

but some people seem so exhausted by current movies that they seem to believe that ai will start a new movie path, even if they are just wrong

While Iron Lung is slightly too overstuffed and could use a little bit of harsher trimming, it's a great blast of cosmic, blood drenched horror. Markiplier can surprisingly bring enough acting chops as the main character who goes on quite the wild journey. I adore how real the film feels with its claustrophobic set and some absolutely superb effects work. The film really does feel like a triumph of independent film making and it shows how much love and passion was put into it, he should be beyond proud at what he's created out of a simple horror game. I would love to see Markiplier return to the horror genre with further offerings.

This movie looks pretty good honestly, and the buzz from TIFF is that it delivers. Excited!

Didn't see it posted anywhere here, but Heart Eyes 2 is moving forward.

Secondly, Evil Dead Wrath, the 7th film (yes, 7th! Burn will be the 6th movie, releasing this summer), has begun filming.

Thirdly, this only has one trailer yet it comes out next week and has the same writer of Seven, plus I really like the vibes.

PSYCHO KILLER feels like it's being dumped, unfortunately. The movie was shot in 2023, and has been sitting on the shelf since then. Compared to 20th Century's SEND HELP just a couple weeks ago, there's zero marketing push for it.

I hope it's good, though; the script has been floating around Hollywood for over ten years, and is supposedly very strong (and crazy).

I know someone who screened Psycho Killer in 2024 at a festival. Said it rocked. I'm looking forward to it.
