I am totally in the minority here (guess I'm getting too old), but I have no idea what Fallout even is.

Long-running (as in, since the 90s) video game series imagining an alternate history where America went fascist and got in a nuclear war with China during the 50s. Combines post-apocalyptic aesthetics with 50s Americana and a lot of black humor.

They're very fun. People usually recommend Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas as a starting point, if you like gaming.

it's also similarly inspired on this movie, I think I heard that the game was inspired by this movie

(warning about this trailer, a lot of very very quick flashing scenes lol, very strange trailer)

They could always do TLOU for HHN 2026. Maybe they just wanting to capitalize on the hype fallout has right now

I’ll be honest if we really truly did have TLOU, at any point, and it was dropped for Fallout, I don’t think it’s coming back, lol. Sony was BITTER about Bethesda being purchased by Microsoft.

But that’s of course , it the IP was actually rumored/ locked for this year. We don’t even know if either, both, or NEITHER are coming.

Best case scenario is both of them coming. That would be amazing

Food for thought but given the departure TLoU2 does (and the need to wait to possibly see how the GP fares to the golfing session), what if TLoU2 was never in consideration this year?

Similar things have happened before with other IPs before. It might make sense that Universal saw the numbers the show was doing; and in part that Netflix is getting into bed with Six Flags; decided to pursue Amazon for the sake of Fallout as a TV series to be adapted to HHN.

Doesn’t mean TLoU2 can’t come eventually, but it doesn’t have the universal love that Part 1 does as a game.

I hope because I live both

But once we get fallout, I’m sure I will love it, just sucks to not get more last of us as well

The show will be fresh this year and sure it would get lines but in the end fallout will be great and hope we get a Scare zone and house to fit in as many characters as we csn

Fallout has lots of great monsters and heroes to show off
I’d live to see brotherhood of steal characters walking around “protecting” people in a scarezsone

Yeah this is a key point. TLOU may have never been in consideration for this year. Fallout was huge and maybe Universal wanted to try and get its fan base to the event.

Universal has been doing Big IPs the year after they come out for a little bit. It happened for HHN 32 with Stranger things so it’s possible TLOU is coming next year.

Orlando 2013... TWD, Resident Evil, Evil Dead, Cabin in the Woods...

So no. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch with similarities to coexist at the event. Same, similar, but different enough.

I would like to see Hollywood do Cabin in the Woods one day. Orlando’s house was great! I know it wouldn’t be at the same scale but I want to see Murdy’s version of it.

Yup—but I would advise that TLoU2 was considered a divisive title to begin with due to story choices done. I think it might have a potential of more diminishing returns, especially if people don’t jive with it once the shows new season comes out in April.

You know, you've actually changed my mind on this. As much as I think Fallout has the potential to be a good maze, I actually think it would be a better scarezone.

Having Fallout as the fun/active zone in post apocalyptic New York with a ongoing conflict between the Brotherhood of Steel and ghouls would be actually be a great fit. Set up some props, armored stilt walkers, and play some radio broadcasts and classic music, have a fun recurring stage show, and you've got a winner in my book. It perfectly fits the MO of what they always do there (Torture Faire, Purge, Major Sweets, Camp, Zombieland, etc.). While I'm not opposed to a maze, I don't feel like the scenic excites me that much unless they do a very claustrophobic vault, and even then having telegraphed power armor jump scares in a cramped maze (or worse, static figures) worries me that we'll see a Mouthbrooders situation all over again. Fallout is known for large expansive exterior sets as much as claustrophobic interiors, and the vibe is really going to have to be right. Even in the show, most of it is outdoors.

The more I think about it, the more I'm actually realizing how hard this concept will need to work to deliver a good house experience.

I'm gonna be honest, as much as it hurts me to say I think it's time us old-timers accept HHN of old will be just that - a fixture of the past.
