Exactly this. If Monsters Unchained goes upside down I absolutely will not be going on it, despite it being what I’m looking forward to the most. If someone’s unable to handle a ride, there’s nothing wrong with it.

I was under the impression that Monsters will be more thematically intense. I really don’t think it needs to be more physically intense than Forbidden Journey — it would turn a lot of people off.

Everyone always has this notion that "spinning coasters" are like the teacups on a track. They really don't actually "spin" that much. You get a minimal "whirl" here/there & that's about it.

These spinning coasters aren't "controlled" rotations, so it's possible to not get a spin-filled ride. Usually it's a "free spin", so if the weight is distributed evenly, less chance of a spin.

I might feel differently if Guardians didn't make me woozy.

I can do it and be ok, but it's not a must-do for me every trip. I'm one of the five people on the planet where Tron > Guardians.

I have been told that Unchained will have a more aggressive ride profile compared to FJ, but more deliberate movements and less of a "floaty" feel. I'm not sure deliberate is the right word, but prepare to be flung.

I fully expect them to debut with an intense ride profile that inevitably gets toned down like FJ's was due to constant nausea problems.

I hope they figure it out. I love Forbidden Journey but even with its floatiness, the kuka arm feels physically exhausting by the end of the ride.

I hope it stays like that for a while (until like Clive said, it's inevitably toned down), I'd want a much more intense experience (thematically and literally) when it's meant to invoke the feeling of being hunted down by literal monsters.

It does beg the question of what the ride’s experience is supposed to be. Are we being hunted? What’s the kuku arm’s explanation — is there a “magical bench” equivalent?

I imagine that wacky Dr. Frankenstein created some sort of transport device to give guests a tour of her incredible work as she works to rehabilitate the family name. Unfortunately, something goes horribly wrong and we’re chased through the castle by the various monsters who haven’t teamed up with the good Doctor.

With this being more practical than FJ, that *should* help with some types of motion sickness.

But down time will be hell! Although I'm curious what B-mode would be for it

Also I'm curious, do we know the approximate size of Unchained's show building? Bigger than FJ's or nah?

just piggybacking on @saint.piss' post, these are the values i got for the two buildings using google earth:

monsters unchained: 70,900 square feet
forbidden journey: 76,200 square feet

with the necessary caveat that these are approximations, they're of similar size.

I wonder how long this will be then? Forbidden Journey is about 4 minutes, can we assume this will be about the same?

Something worth noting is that while the Unchained building is slightly smaller, most of FJ's rather long main queue is inside the showbuilding as well.

While here, from the looks of it (and just based off what we've heard), I wouldn't be surprised if a good sum of the main queue is inside the actual manor, leaving the showbuilding to just the pre-show and ride.

As in most theme park rides, we're there for a demonstration and then, as always, something goes horribly wrong :)
