Mega Movie Parade

Got to see this parade last night and I feel everyone is going to have really mixed reviews because of how they did this parade. There is less interesting movement on the floats than I expected and that first float is, ummm.... interesting. So now you are depending on the performers. And sometimes you get good ones and other times they were just there. So for me it was a mixed bag on stuff I liked and didn't and I feel it was all interactions with the performers. So I can absolutely see someone coming on here with extremely positive reviews and others having extremely negative. My kids enjoyed seeing characters they knew and they had fun. My oldest and myself was very "Meh" about it. A lot of performers seemed to be having an off night or off at that point in the parade. Which even the same night standing in two different places will get you different results. They needed more to the floats more energy there to make it more consistent is my opinion. Right now this parade ranks middle for me in theme park parades I have seen.

I wonder what the missing float is. If I were a betting person, I’d for sure say that it’s a Gru and the kids float to pair with the Minions. Either that or Shrek.

Do we know what floats got added? When I saw the parade I didn't see any new ones and ET was missing. But Ghostbusters did get out on the parade route.

AFAIK - the other JP float and Ecto-1 haven’t made it out yet.

Watched the parade again yesterday, still excellent, but they need to fix audio issues desperately. From the time they announce the "Now Showing, the Universal Mega Movie Parade" to the intro float, there's just silence since the park BGM is turned off and the only music comes from the floats themselves.

I’d say that’s my number one issue from what I’ve seen. Music for a parade is the lifeblood. I need music surrounding me.

Yeah I will be honest I didn't even know the parade had started and we were near the beginning of the route. It started a little early and without music the parade starting with dancers fell a little flat because the float is behind there. The dancers were at us and I was like, oh, parade started.

I'm not sure why they went in that direction. It's awkwardly quiet while the first float makes its way to the section (That's if you're nowhere near the start of the route). I'm guessing the missing floats throws the sync off?

That’s been my only guess. It feels like b-mode.

I think so but it’s just a repeating music loop for the whole thing. Each float only plays audio for character voices and sound effects.

Hoping it's just a tech issue they're working on. But if they can't do individual audio selections for each unit work, they could "combine" units to keep a similar tone in audio and just have a soundtrack that blends in between both.

DreamWorks Unit - Trolls & Kung Fu Panda
Illumination Unit - Minions & Sing
Finale Units - Jaws & Jurassic

Ghostbusters will probably need to be left alone for licensing, can easily stick it in the middle like it currently sits.

I'd also just cut the intro float entirely, it's pretty uninspiring and dull. Just start off with BTTF.

I think the intro dancers are among the best, personally. I think they ought just to “plus” the intro float by looting Disney’s junkyard to find the old IllumiNations glob to stick to the top.

Nope. I think it’s just a lot on their plates right now.
