Well it’s not. But it feels whatever I say or show, there’s going to be a counter argument from every angle, so I’ll disappear back to my hole!
I think there SHOULD be a year dedicated to the 90s. Some top tier horror debut during that decade, and the vibes were pristine. There are just marketing challenges with it that don’t really exist with other decades around it.

Almost every decade prior to had something that clearly defines it from a marketing perspective. The 90s’ most definitive thing is Grunge, which is basically “the 80s but dirty.”

It was a decade of transition. CDs were introduced in the 90s, causing cassettes to fall out of favor. Home computers started becoming a thing but still weren’t ubiquitous.

Maybe you could make all the graphics look like they were printed out on a dot matrix printer?

The defining characteristic of memorable 90s horror like Scream and Faculty was post-modern meta-commentary on the genre itself. That makes for some great films that FEEL very 90s when viewed but it doesn’t translate easily to the event. How do you do a self-aware haunted house? Have the Scareactors reference and mock scare techniques?

Of course, maybe this all leads up to a MST3K house - and I am COMPLETELY on board with that!

The discord has been discussing this possible lineup. Some of it has been rumored before Legacy dropped his hints and some came after legacy pointed towards it.

Nightmare on Elm Street
Ghostbusters
UM: Dracula
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (or Halloween)
A Quiet Place

A new show for the event

Some of this may not happen but I think it’s a good place for spec.

Once again... please (PLEASE) read the last few pages of this thread...

Rix Flix says Creature

Wasn't there just a new Creature comic book announced too ...?
Creature, I can't see being possible, it seemed like at least in our Orlando they just killed him off and made him an easter egg appearance and Murdy has already stated that he would love to make the house but the costumes would be just expensive for the time being, so he's technically waiting for the right moment to bring him but honestly I feel like later down the line it won't come, it seems like Orlando might wrap it up with Monsters sooner than later but that's just my thought on the current state of that Universe.

I probably wouldn't go off his easter egg in Bride of Frankenstein Lives as a reason, since the UCM houses are a bunch of separate houses with their own stories, not some big intertwined story.

If he doesn't get a house, I like to think that Victoria Frankenstein just finds him still sitting in the castle catacombs before finally freeing him (allowing the boat ride expansion to happen!).

Well... actually.. not entirely true. Bride picks up where the 2019 house ends. Legends Collide is the follow-up & has Dracula seeking the amulet to take revenge on the Bride for torturing/killing his brides for science. Wolfman was just there for his own personal gain of breaking his moonlit curse.

Unmasked is the only disconnected house from the previous intertwined story built across 3 houses. And this wouldn't be the first time in HHN history we've had continuos stories for specific houses over the years.

Funnily enough to add onto this, you could even argue they continue off 2009, which had 3 UCM houses:

The Wolfman - Meant to be Larry Talbot first inheriting the curse and seeing the carnage and horrors that come with it.

Dracula: Legacy in Blood - The house was all about The Calling, when all of Dracula's Brides, both old and new, would feed (as happening in the 2019 house), also giving fresh energy and power to the Brides, fresh enough for a certain other Bride to harvest later...

Frankenstein: Creation of the Damned - The house showed the creation of the Bride, and I believe actually ended the same way the 2019 house did with the Monster bringing the castle down (although I may be wrong on that, anyone with better knowledge please correct me if so).
