I won’t put words in anyone’s mouth but the comparisons I’ve seen to Transformers on Twitter/Reddit seem to allude to Ministry being a very impressive but not necessarily the greatest or most-fun ride. (And some people might take offense to that.) I think there’s a chance this ends up as Epic’s most polarizing attraction.

The fact that there can even be a justifiable debate of whether Monsters or Ministry is better and/or one of the greatest dark rides of all time is a testament to how damn good Epic is. Same goes for the fact that saying “it’s the SCOOP ride system taken to its absolute peak” can be seen as insulting hah.

I don't really understand how she's being harsh? The Ministry ride system, as stated multiple times now, is an upgraded version/evolution of the SCOOP. Calling it Transformers at full potential wouldn't be inaccurate.

I think people have a visceral reaction to something being compared to Transformers—which is funny because Transformers is one of my favorite rides at the resort.

It may not be Spidey and it may not be my favorite, but it’s such a winner. I’ll be sad when it eventually goes

I basically have contempt for Transformers! It's like the designers said, "Let's just do Spider-Man again*, but worse and louder."

* Yes, I recognize it was originally meant to be Hollywood's Spider-Man because they couldn't have the real thing.

I dont really get the whole SCOOP system debacle. Like probably until the end of theme parks, ride vehicles are going to be moving through a dark building, on a track, moving up and down, side to side. MoM RVs are clearly a whole different system than the SCOOPs in technology, design, etc. Just because they are inside, on. Track and move side to side doesnt mean they need to be compared. 2 differenta beasts. All IMHO of course.

I totally agree… but I still love it. The IP works and the SCOOP is always a hit for me. Even the one SCOOP ride I don’t like has its moments.

If Spider-Man didn't exist, it would be a pretty fun attraction.

But the comparison does it no favors, and I feel it's a really redundant experience in the resort lineup.

Multiple Ministry riders reporting on Reddit that riders have been asked to not cross their legs and to keep their feet flat on the floor at all times. Seems like an issue lol

Do you cross your legs on roller coasters? Spider-Man?

It's just them advising for safety precautions, that's all.

I should have been more descriptive, sorry! Apparently there’s actual sensor issues because of the feet/legs, which I don’t quite seem to understand.

Tbh on my end I’m not conscious enough to know what I do with my legs on rides. I think they’re planted?

EDIT: Example - “He said that the ride stopped because a 7 year old took one of their feet off of the ground and someone else shifted up once it was already stopped. The sensors are at the back of the seat and are EXTREMELY sensitive, they said we can't move at all on the ride or we risk it stopping. The TMs loading us on for the ride the second time told us that this was the issue they were dealing with that caused a lot of the delays.”

Interesting way to detect someone seated.

I figured it would make more sense to detect weight on the seat itself like cars do for seat belt alerts and not whether or it the guest has two feet on the floor…what if someone's an amputee?

The sensors aren't actually by the feet, i believe they are in the back of the actual seats, you can kinda see them because there are two holes in each seat.

I was wondering what those holes in the seat were for.

So the consensus is the ride is not reliable. Any tips on making sure we can get a ride on the day we go next week? If at all possible?

Go there first if it’s open, be patient and willing to wait through downtimes. I think that’s about all you can do.

I. HATE. THIS. VIRTUAL. QUEUE. SYSTEM.

Seriously….the app is so buggy. My girlfriend and I have tried twice now on two separate devices at the designated times and it says we have the slot and then boom, gone. So frustrating…

I’m wondering if the virtual queue maxes out at a certain number of parties instead of a certain number of guest, if not I can see this becoming a slight problem like the old VQ system

Anyone who’s ridden — what have load operations been like? I’ve been so curious ever since we got the first look at the RVs and I wonder if they have a system down. I’ve heard that a lot of ride-throughs have gone with empty seats.
