Yeah, people in the comments seem to think it’s going to be a drop tower now lol

I love how the seating looks so similar to Tower of Terror.

If they pull off that illusion completely, it means they did their jobs.

Are we 100% certain the ceiling isn’t “enhanced” in any way to look good in the picture? That’s the only part I have trouble believing in the picture itself.

Not doubting that it will look good in person btw.

I'm fairly certain that it's photoshopped in but I think they can make a similar effect work. If you look up cotton wool and LEDs, it creates a similar vibe.

The effect in the real image looks nearly identical to the small area that we can see in the concept art.

They've been thinking it for a long time. People see an elevator vehicle and assume drop tower because of Tower of Terror. I posted a size comparison of the Potter vehicle compared to the Scoop and most of the comments were saying drop tower.

Speaking of which, I have updated the comparison image.

Looks touched, i assume because the projection effects don't work at that light level for photos/in photos.

Just realized everyone was talking about the atrium and not the ride vehicle, egg on my face.

The other option i’m thinking is perhaps it’s a domed projection / led roof?

A way to create depth by blending the set into the projected part? Basically where the upper floor of the building gets that dark tone, as if it’s got cloud / mist darkening it, perhaps that’s all projected and the physical set ends at the 3rd floor windows?

The image does give off a render vibe to it but seems legit. Meta data is stored on the file on the Universal site. It’s focus. Is on the back row which gives a weird kind of blur. Plus if you look closely, there’s a few imperfections like marks on the wall and crumbs on the carpet that a render wouldn’t have.

It easily could be. The Bourne screens are more than capable and the same tech is being used as a window to continue the backdrop.

I was waiting for an illustration of the ride vehicles. I'm wondering if the cars will be able to drop suddenly (Like RoTR drop speeds) or will it just be slower? I'm hoping for the former! Give me some thrill!

I'm also wondering how tall the elevations will be? Ten feet? Fifteen?

A screen ceiling with Bourne-like screen quality would be dope and an absolute game-changer for immersion.

Fair warning, they spoil the entire beginning of the ride, and I'm not sure how much more of it they talk about, so I had to click off it. That being said, what they did share? This truly is sounding like Universal's response to Rise, and it's a damn good one.

It might even surpass Rise based on what I've seen and read.

Anybody willing to give a spoiler rundown of what was gathered here? This podcast is just a little too cringe to handle imo

It’s one of their better episodes. Cringe aside, Kim Gritzer, the creative director of the attraction, was very forthcoming. My mind is racing about what could happen based on new information.

Well,
one of the presenters is a Hufflepuff and the other not and the person who tells everything about the amazing queue and ride she was responsible to create is a Slithering and the others think that is so cool and awesome and they all have a bit of slithering in them witch sounds a bit, you know... And then she explains about the ride vehicle that is actually going trough scenes and you can see the pink lady who is a b*tch but she was really nice and she improvised some lines and they are in the ride but we don't know what house she is. The scene's are huge and very detailed or small and very detailed and they have stuff in them and they are all very excited about it and the loading platform looks like the elevator scene from the movie. And the ride can be ridden by 40" people and the house elf goes with you on the journey and you see "the 3" twice and dementors but we don't know how often we see them but they are there and the rhino beast thing that comes close and there is green and pink mist effects but not at the same place and all the presenters are very excited about it and that is about a bit from the video but there is much
more.
