So when the gringotts cart pulled in to the loading area, the TMs had to manually lift all of the lapbars - the cart was empty because we were the second set of riders. Just thought that was interesting - not saying that's what's wrong with it or anything.

Sounds just like the Mummy. Every so often, once the lap bars unlock a guest or two might have to give them a little help and push up to exit.

He's also rumored to be filming a Judd Apatow movie. Pictures all over twitter of him walking a pack of dogs in NYC for it

Ok I'm aware this is EXTREMELY poor quality, like you have to tilt your head to kind of see some things, but here is our attempt at an on-ride video of Gringotts. At least you can hear most of it. Commentary courtesy of my brother...

This should go in the Gringotts thread.

OK, so here is the question? So they "soft opened" tonight for the paying public for the pkg peeps. When they opened everything was functioning including Gringott's. That technically fullfills the contractual obligations of opening it all at the same time. Could they soft open tomorrow with Gringott's down because of technical difficulties and still be in compliance?

My guess is there is a legal team up right now trying to figure that out.

I choose to believe that they're not trying to get out of letting us ride the ride, that there really is some kind of problem and it keeps going down. I will try again tonight. The rest of Diagon alley really is amazing though, and they made us feel like movie stars last night. Wow is all I can say.

He's going to be seen as Harry Potter the rest of his life, so he needs to get used to it. Just like how, yes, Ron Howard went on to become a successful director, but people will always see him from his roles in Andy Griffith or Happy Days. And speaking of that, Henry Winkler will always be known as The Fonz. That's just the way it is when you've done an iconic role, he needs to take it in stride and play along. Nobody is saying he can't ever do anything else, but he will always be approached as "Harry Potter" for autographs and what not, there's just no getting away from that.

I agree that I think it's lame that these actors won't further embrace the roles that made them famous. Especially when all they would have needed was some voice over dialog, that could have probably been recorded within a short afternoon. I'm not expecting them to do comic cons, and attend the grand opening, but at least make sure the character is represented well.

As someone else said, they will be recognized as these characters there entire lives. There is no going back from that. It's not like Universal will stop using the Actors likeness anytime soon. They are there forever, so why not actually care enough about your character to make sure the vocals sound correct?

it's just incredibly pompous, but hey they are in their 20s and rich, so why should they care? Maybe one day they will be desperate for a paycheck and will re-record the audio for universal on the 10th anniversery of the ride or something.

Umm... are you sure that blank wall isn't acting as a "green screen" for them to insert a background when you buy it??

Photos of the on-ride photo items were posted a while ago in the Gringott's thread. Here's a link: http://www.orlandounited.com/forums/showthread.php/8942-Harry-Potter-and-the-Escape-from-Gringotts-(SPOILERS!)/page20

Thanks for posting! Great to hear the entire audio of the ride. I know it's hard for cameras to capture it.

Can you post in the Gringott's thread and give us some more details of what you thought the ride was like? I was wondering if the fire (on screens) in the ride looks real, and if they use any heat effects along with it.

The acting world is littered with actors that couldn't get much work after they were typecast. They are taking the smart road for their careers by avoiding any further association with their HP characters. Both are young and talented. This is the correct path.

It is somewhere in the dark confines of Knockturn... much narrower and spookier than the stairs next to Gringotts. It is very Jack-the-Ripper in Victorian style. There are also some cool gobo projections used. HHN could only dream for such detail.

Agreed, I don't think it is lame.

No, but that is the window shadow gobo I was referring too on the wall. The ad painted on the wall is for Phoenix flash fire powder or something like that.

I would hardly say Emma Watson has been type cast because of her role as hermoine. I don't think the voice of Harry is as much the issue as the voice of hermoine is

Have they not posted it on youtube yet? I believe NBC has a channel there. If not, perhaps their website...

I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about Radcliffe performing on Broadway DAILY and Rupert Grint has also been filming lately overseas. Emma Watson just graduated from college and is also filming for a movie coming out next year.

All of these actors are busy and a theme park event isn't necessarily high priority for them at the moment.
