I heard that pass sales have dropped 30% since the restructure! It looks like their greedy move is coming back to hurt them.

Has it hurt them? Or is it accomplishing what they wanted?

Where does it say that Potter rides are included? Also, do you know if FOL has guaranteed entry into the area, or if a return ticket is still required?

Opie beat me to it... but out of curiosity, I was looking into the pricing for the VIP tours and yea...

Front of the Line tickets will increase in price in March

Gz2ufOF.jpg

There is nothing whatsoever that I could find regarding Hippo/FJ in the "more info" for this. So no idea where THAT info is coming from.

And as for the VIP tours... the price goes up twice! Once in March, Again in April...

I contacted Guest Communications -- the response: "The Front of Line pass will be available for purchase when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ opens in April and will continue to offer the same one-time use front of line benefits as it does today. Please keep in mind the Front of Line ticket is subject restrictions and availability."

I haven't heard yet if a return ticket into Hogsmeade will be required for Front of Line ticketholders at times when the land is full. Perhaps they would at least be granted to go to the front of the Hogsmeade queue for a given return time. We'll see.

Another question, will Forbidden Journey front of line ticket holders still see the castle on the way in, or will they enter through the single line queue (or similar) and miss the queue features? I've asked the question -- we'll see if they know.

Thats not a big enough decrease... and it shouldn't just be an online decrease. BUT it is a step in the right direction.

I heard back from Guest Communications today on the other question, FWIW: "Guests with Front of Line tickets will have the opportunity for immediate access into Hogsmede during their stay, including our peak seasons."

Now, if we could just get them to spell Hogsmeade right. BTW: are there any passes out there that include FoL benefits?

I know some people don't like this opinion, but I thought the move on APs was..actually for the best.

Its things like that that Disneyland would dream of, especially considering that Potter is going to be..quite something special on the huge potential of capacity issues.

I'm just surprised that the new price wasn't even at the beginning of Dymanic pricing (which, it should of; considering what Universals going to deal with).

Sincerely, I thought that the prices needed to be higher, especially for when Potter itself opens.

Alex... bite your blasphemous tongue! The prices do NOT need to be higher because of Potter. Don't give into the evil way of thinking that is Comcast/NBCUniversal. Potter isn't going to be the cash-cow it was in Orlando, at least not merchandise-wise. Butterbeer sales will be high, but that's it. They're getting too cocky with their price increases. While I want the park to succeed, I also want their high prices back-fire on them.

And seriously? $400 for VIP now?..... well f*%$^%^%*&*... I might have to rethink my bday plans or just do the VIP tour solo.

^ Prices are determined by supply and demand. Building Hogsmeade creates new demand, which will be reflected in pricing. It's economics, not an evil way of thinking. New lands wouldn't be built without an expectation of increased interest in the park.

^While I totally feel you and want to see USH make a top tier pass as much as you do, they just can't do what Florida is doing with how small it is. So little space for so many people. They do need to come up with a more expensive pass with all the perks though. I just don't ever see them doing monthly payments.

Yeah, Universal continues to completely drop the ball when it comes to their dedicated Hollywood fan base. Hopefully it's all temporary while they adjust to this very dramatic change to the park on different levels and go through the growing pains. They seriously need a top tier pass though. I don't see any negatives that could come up by offering it, even if only a very limited amount of guests get it. It's missed opportunity by NOT offering it. And I agree, it would be great if they had a payment plan like Orlando and all of Disney's parks. USH offered payment plans temporarily few years back but then got rid of it quietly.

The payment plans are what drives up Disney's pass prices. If Universal were to introduce payment plans prices would most likely skyrocket.

^ Speaking of supply and demand, it's very clear to me by being present in the theme park community that there is a HUGE demand for a legitimate top-tier annual pass. Meaning no black out dates and free parking. Obviously this would be top value and could be priced as such. Yet, Universal fails to supply this to their endearing fans.

How much would you be willing pay for a USH annual pass with no black out dates and parking included? $1000 a year? Curious what folks here would be willing to fork over...
