Not just me, Universal's quarterly report comments were not positive. Perhaps you should listen to Robert Niles and Jakes chat on Theme Park Insider. They're essentially saying the same things I am, just about verbatim. Universal wouldn't be offering a 6 month $200 ticket if things were rosy.

Heh, I absolutely love Universal Orlando. In the past nine months I've spent over $25,000 there....and I have another vacation coming up at the end of October. I just want them to be successful, whomever is making the decisions. As I keep saying, the key will be the third quarter, since that will be the first complete opening results. I hope they do well and get their issues, not all that are their fault, resolved. Any of my comments are just tough love.

I'd say I don't think @Mad Dog is trying to pass himself off as an expert, but simply reading the reports of not just UO, those visiting the parks, but also the economy at large and rightfully so. If I'm a stockholder in NBCUniversal, I'm rightfully concerned about the micro and macroeconomics, especially with something that requires significant outlay like a theme park and getting an ROI on any CapEx projects at a time like this. If you're spending X amount on a project, that comes with an expectation to drive additional attendance and revenue. NBCU is calling it out and while they haven't adjusted their future quarter or FY projections from what I've seen, they're concerned about it.

The working logic is sound. It's not doom and gloom, but valid concerns about what's to come and how that will impact the experience one gets from the parks as well as future offerings.

I’m very much understand Universal goes through its ups and downs just like any corporation. The summer attendance numbers are probably a little concerning for them but they are investing now which is good.

Now I’m curious on how USH is doing since it wasn’t mentioned in the report.

No problem, my friend. It's just a forum, and like everything in life, we can't all agree all the time. Heck, sometimes I change my own opinion and stances over time as new info come in.

I was wondering if Epic crowds will be less since school is back in session in Southern states. I'll be there the week of 8/15. I'm hoping for some reduction. Anyone have any experience with this these past couple of years? Thanks in advance.

I went over that time last year, had a great time. Crowds weren't that bad. I'd expect a 5/10 crowd.

What's the latest with the built but not finished counter service dining in CP? Is it still a shell? I'm wondering why Uni hasn't made some move to add indoor seating, a meet and greet, or something into this space.

I think they aren't rushing to complete it until the can get more capacity into the park and raise the attendance cap. Some of the existing restaurants in CP are constantly slower than their portal counterparts, so they don't have as much incentive to add more dining in CP atm. As for using for other purposes... That's anyone guess. From what I understand, the basics are all complete, it's simply waiting for creative to come in with the finishing decorative interior build out, so perhaps it's a simple as that. They don't want people being in a giant, unthemed room in the middle of their new highly themed park and are simply waiting for the right time to finish the build out.
