Ok so this has been on my mind, not sure if warranted a new thread because…algorithms.

Are Disney, or someone else, funding a dirty tricks campaign against Epic Universe and Universal?

This sounds absolutely wild I’ll grant you that, but I can’t underestimate the sheer amount of petty, pathetic complaints about Epic Universe, that didn’t exist until the last few weeks.

There’s something not right, and it’s too obvious to me. This didn’t exist until 2 weeks ago now the most pathetic pull-ups are worthy of a social post.

I know how algorithms work so I dunno if I’m being targeted based on my interactions but I honestly can’t underestimate how ridiculous some of the posts I’ve seen have been. I genuinely believe something is off. It’s not genuine in some of these cases . Not saying ride availability isn’t an issue. I live near Alton Towers - it’s an issue

Disney (and all of Orlando) benefit from increased visitation to Universal, so no Disney isn't sabotaging the opening.

However, the park has unfortunately suffered significant downtime lately (more than the first few days of preview) & more often closures as of late, with guests paying near full price for that experience, so there's an obvious rise in negative comments.

When guests are paying full price for tickets, there's bound to be more complaints than at a media/TM preview that's free.

ok… so I was drunk when I posted that

Just got a bit fed up at some of the really petty whinges. Completely get the issues with downtime and why that would cause annoyance, I didn’t realise people were now paying full price.

We visited the park for the first time yesterday and yeah, it was a rough. We only managed to get on Constellation Carousel, Yoshi and Monsters Unchained x 3. We did catch a showing of Cirque Arcanus though, which was impressive.

I stopped at the Concierge kiosk by Dark Universe to complain - mainly focused on the fact that we paid almost full price for these tickets and in the time since purchase Ministry was announced to be closed, then Werewolf, and then that very morning Minecart - and the person was very understanding and offered us complimentary tickets valid 2pm onwards either today, tomorrow, Sunday or after the beginning of September. Weirdly they aren’t valid Monday though.

Social media is all about engagement. If someone complains about something, it doesn't matter how accurate, just matters how many clicks/views and comments it gets.

Apparently Battle at the Ministry is opening today without Virtual Queue. People are being told 9am. Gonna be interesting.

Edit - the Universal app now lists it as opening at 9am. It’s now 8.30am and Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and Stardust are delayed. This is going to be chaos.

We’re here too, currently in our room at Helios after giving up on early entry after yesterday. Bad morning to take it slow with Ministry opening so we’ll wait for the early rush to pass and hope for the best this afternoon.

The app is also now showing Hiccups as closed today after being down most of yesterday.

Edit - Ministry delayed, along with half the other rides in the park.
