Universal's Epic Universe Construction Thread

I genuinely thought Dark Universe expansion was going to be the next ‘one that got away’ — 10 years of ‘almost’, like Nintendo in USF (or the old old JP coaster discussions, TL theatre replacements…) while everyone wished for it and it got endlessly passed over for other things and eventually dropped. I’m amazed the riskiest land in Epic has actually ticked all the boxes for gsat, creative, merch sales etc sufficiently to make this happen.

Couldn’t it imply the inverse — that DU is the land most in-need of help? It would not shock me if this next attraction is something significantly more palatable or normie-core than Unchained.

I mean, for me, not really. Monsters is one of the most popular and high-capacity rides in Epic and is pretty universally loved; the coaster is a coaster, and the land has lots of other cool stuff going on. Paris and SNW both ‘need’ help more, whether for pure capacity or for the rides being less popular than they might have been (Mario Kart).

I think the suggestions above re quicker lead time with no third parties are probably a big part of it.
