USS's lineup for this year's HHN is mostly revealed.

5 Haunted houses, 2 scarezones, and 2 shows. There is also an Icon for this year; named Lady Death, as Jack The Clown will be returning for one of the show's.

A thread dedicated to Universal Studios Singapore discussions.

To start off, looks like Jack is traveled across the Pacific over the summer. Credit to Thrillgeek.com for finding this.

Honest to God, for all the ills about Singapore, they sure know how to put on a show. I'm curious how a production like this would fly in the United States.

Little recent blurb from Screamscape:
It's been a few years now since we've seen a new major attraction added to Universal Studios Singapore, so many are wondering about what might be next? Would you believe that Harry Potter may be under consideration? I'm hearing that it is being discussed, though to build a Wizarding World of Harry Potter would take up a considerable amount of space, and something in this small park would have to go to make way.
So where would it go? If they opt to move ahead with it, I'm hearing that the land of Far Far Away would be removed to make way for Hogwarts Castle. It currently takes up a large section of the park but offers little in the way of major attractions, featuring only a kiddie coaster, the Magic Potion Spin kiddie wheel, a couple of small theater shows (Donkey Live & Shrek 4D). It is interesting that it does also feature the park's newest attraction, Puss in Boots' Giant Journey, but that could be given a Potter themed makeover perhaps, along with converting the Enchanted Airways kiddie coaster into another Flight of the Hippogriff coaster.
So will it happen? Time will tell, though with the way that Comcast's ownership of NBC/Universal has been going, there may first need to be some business dealings taken care of first to allow them to possibly take over control of the theme park, as the Singapore park is the only one now not fully owned by the company at this time. If that happens to pass, then I would think Potter's arrival would almost be a sure thing to happen, because the addition of Harry Potter always comes with huge profits soon following.

Has anyone heard anything about Comcast actually making any push to acquire further ownership of USS? It's always interesting to me to hear about what's going on with this park, considering how much of an odd duck it is in the Universal family.

Is this park really maxed out for space for expansion? Or it's just the Wizarding Worlds as-is are too big for it?

Looking at satellite view of the park, it's pretty boxed in without any expansion pads. It's pretty weird, that doesn't seem to suggest they were really thinking long-term when planning this park. There's a golf course across the street they could potentially expand into.

It's very boxed in, and that I think it would depend on if the Golf Course makes much more profit than Singapore.

EDIT: The park is much more isolated than I thought.

I can't see them expand to the golf course, at all.

I think it's a Casino Resort first. The Theme Park is probably just considered an ancillary attraction. It's there to help entertain the resort guests. I would doubt it will ever become anything more than it is now. Plus there's some types of regulations that seriously limit what can be built in the park, I believe.

I wonder what made them put a park in Singapore. It's too small with little to no potential for growth.

I'm guessing they wanted one in SE Asia but South Korea (Seoul, specifically) would've been a much better second location for Asia.

Since this is BC Before Comcast, I'm guessing Comcast would approach this in an entirely different manner if the same scenario was presented to them in this day & time.

Honestly, I think they should just sell off Singapore.

Do they (Universal) have any ownership stake at all in Singapore, or is it completely owned by the Casino Resort group? I'd guess Universal makes money from royalty, franchise fees and such.

If I am not mistaken, Universal licensed the park, similar to when they had PortAdventura with them; while Genting owns the park.

:thumbsup:Yeah, that's basically what I remembered, but I wasn't completely sure my memory was correct. Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Universal disowned this park, like they did with Portventura, once (if) the South Korea resort gets built.
