Trying to get an idea how big this will be. Google says the park itself will be on about 38 acres, but is there a comparable landmark when it comes to theme parks or lands?

I really just wanna be there in case there’s like a mini preview center they’ve set up like Disney does with D23. Seems odd that they’d team up with them, and not do something at the local UNT campus, or even city hall again. I mean, I guess they’re thinking CC members will have kids that they want to spoil with annual passes and such, but that whole area is affluent enough that it seems odd to be exclusive like that.

It’s about the size of Volcano Bay. It doesn’t need to be super big, as they’re after half day locals. If visiting from out of town, I imagine you could make a full day out of it (so long as you’re entertaining children, which is the main goal.)

I'm not a member, but it looked like there was a graphic at the end for an option to buy tickets specifically to this. I haven't gone back to double check though since I'm working.

We could have two InsideUniversal spies at the meeting if I can work up the courage to call. I’ll buy a ticket, if such a thing exists. I just don’t think they want us riff raff there. I mean, I have a Members Only jacket, but that will only get me so far.

A part of me still wonders “why them?” I have theorized a possibility on why they may not want theme park enthusiasts at their theme park meeting. It is possible that this is a “beta test,” a sort of “warm up” exercise, so that they can handle people like us at a real PR event.

You need a membership number, members and their guests only. I didn’t call for that reason, but also because TBH, it’s a 48 minute drive for me. I ain’t spending $2 one way to save 10 minutes. Can’t understand how people do that every single day, both ways, during rush hour. I remember once, on a Saturday, arriving at the exact same time as people who did use the toll. So they paid for nothing.

Where was I? Oh yeah! So I would have to leave at like 6:30am. That’s not happening. I am not a morning person. I will get into a wreck before I even make it to The Colony. Also, hafta take my kid to school, and my husband had surgery today. If it were in any way possible, I’d just send my friend in my place, and even she probably would have problems getting there. We go there about once a month, but it’s more leisure.

I’m going to go with my theory that this will be a preview of the preview, The park is supposed to open less than a year and a half from now. The main entrance is done. All they have to do is move the barriers and let the public know where the preview center is. They’ve already made signs for staff. If that current temporary building is where it will be, then it shouldn’t be long. Maybe we should start collecting questions from other forum members, so that in the event that they just happen to be open, and willing to answer, we can provide them with prepared inquiries.

It's cool to see that Universal is finally utilizing the SpongeBob IP in a more substantial way. If successful at this park, I'm curious to see if the property could someday have an increased presence in Orlando...

Flats, 2 kiddie coasters, 1 rapids ride, shows, and I think one tracked outdoor slow ride that’s a bit bigger than just a regular flat.

Toon Lagoon overlay or replacement seems likely to me if SpongeBob made its way to UOR.
