Comcast released their First Quarter results, and they were good for the Orlando parks.

Overall, Universal experienced a 24.2% increase in revenue to $2.3 billion. EBITDA was $553million, a 33% increase.

Comcast execs. stated, "Orlando continues to perform extremely well, with Epic driving strong resort attendance and higher per cap spending".

On the Asian parks, its another story. The execs. said, "Partially offsetting strong growth in Orlando is some pressure at our other parks. ....Specifically in
Osaka.....and Beijing, we're navigating a more challenging macroeconomic environment.'

The next two quarterly reports will be more revealing since the results will include both partial and full results from 2025 Epic opening figures. Bottom
line, good news from Orlando but troubling results from Asia.

I'm happy to hear things seem mostly good. Would love to hear USH numbers because the size of spring break didn't feel as heavy as years before

But happy to hear for now things are up and assume USH should have a strong summer because of the coaster, the Texas park I assume does well for at least its first quarter and hopefully Epic keeps the traffic up in Orlando

I have a feeling that Asian tourism is now very much out of the COVID doldrums, which is allowing more international tourism for Japan and Chinese residents, which is eating into their domestic parks. That’s a hunch, of course. It requires looking at Asian tourism holistically. But based on what I saw in Korea up until 2024, that’s where my gut is sitting.

Orlando (and America) got out of that slowdown much quicker.

USH was probably flat or declined since the release only mentioned Orlando as doing well. But, as you said, once the coaster opens the USH numbers will probably jump. Of course, all these numbers are still in a fluid state since Epic wasn't open to paid attendance in 2025's first quarter. Year to year numbers will mean more once they're compared to a completely opened three months, which will be the third 2026 quarterly report. If we remember, Universal revenue numbers spiked during the first year they had controlling interest in Osaka. So, we always need to look at the numbers with a full understanding of what they encompass.

I would keep an eye out on the oil crisis especially in Q2, since that's currently much more acute in Japan/China than it is in America.

Well unless something happens....like soon I think Q3 will also be affect and could hurt travel even the US is gas has not gone down by then

While USH might do well since the coaster, I could see even the summer just having a hard time to get people to come and besides locals because of the prices. Orlando will be interesting, I hope Epic can keep it up but with nothing big coming to Orlando could see this summer season also take a hit if things dont change

I would also keep an eye out for the <insert impending self-imposed crisis here> in Q3, which could really shake things up in a myriad of ways.

I have to talk about the world in as measured a tone as I can because otherwise I'd sound like this

International plane traffic is already affected, with more cancellations to come. The price of jet fuel is even more critical than auto fuel. International carriers have already sounded the alarm. Remember, August and September attendance in Orlando is very much part and parcel of 'long' European vacations. Those vacations are planned far in advance for the most part.

I'd be curious to see how the "non Epic" Orlando numbers compare to last year's. They are getting a huge artificial bump right now. Wondering if the other parks are seeing steady numbers.

Crowd levels were through the roof at USF and IOA during the two weeks sandwiched around Easter. But the last week in March and the past two weeks at IOA and USF have been mostly slow. WDW experienced almost the same trends as Universal....kind of feast or famine. Epic had two real slow weeks during those two slow weeks at IOA and USF....but last week Epic seemed somewhat busy while IOA and USF were slow/moderate.
