First Quarter: Attendance down 5%. Revenue down 3%. Earnings down 14.1%. ....But they're spending what little money they have on more stock buybacks. This is a sick company.....And to think, these parks were jewels when Busch Breweries ran them.

What’s even more concerning than the declines and blowing money to prop up the stock is that they appear to be blindly hand-waving it all away.

Attendance in the first quarter was negatively impacted by approximately 140,000 guests due to weather and approximately 80,000 guests due to declines in international visitation. Adjusting for these impacts, attendance would have increased more than 1% for the quarter," said Marc Swanson, Chief Executive Officer of United Parks & Resorts Inc.

I don’t recall hearing Disney or Universal constantly blaming the weather.

That's becoming a bad habit blame game for lousy quarterly results in the theme park industry. Have a bad quarter, blame mother nature for managerial ineptitude.

Especially considering the locations aren't like in Oklahoma or something. I don't remember any significant weather events that would've impacted them outside of maybe the PA/VA locations... and are those open year round?
