Hello,

Was the avalanche tunnel--seen in the Six Million Dollar Man & Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew built for a show and then used as an attraction, or they other way around?  Thank-you.

Hi,

I believe it was built as a stop on the Studio Tour first. You can read its original press release from 1976 on this website: http://www.thestudiotour.com/ush/studiotour/tunnel.html

Hope this helps!

Funny how Earthquake, Parting of the Red Sea, Avalanche, Jaws, Collapsing Bridge, Flash Flood, and the original Kong were all built as attractions/animation stops for the Studio Tour, and yet have all been used in film and/or TV!

Has Jaws ever been used in a serious context or are you talking about the Amity village location?

Well, i wouldn't say "serious context" but it HAS been used in a few TV shows. Like, the actual shark and stuff.

Haha wait really? I'd love to see that!

But no, really, jaws has been used a few times in tv shows.

Speaking of, there was a recent commercial for a clothing store that was filmed on the metropolitan sets, and in one shot of the girl standing "in New York", you can see the Kong 360 3D and Simpsons show buildings in the background. I found it amusing for some reason :P

HA!!!! Love it!

Interesting how South Park can say Disneyland by name and ccompletely recreate its landmarks, but refers to Universal as Galaxy Studio Tour.
