Practically all of the major tourist attractions on Yas Island are owned by Miral (Sea World included), so they’re the Oriental Land Company equivalent. They’ll write a check to United Parks probably based on various percentages of each revenue source, like admissions, F&B, merch, and then probably some sort of base marketing/IP fee.

Financial statement implication is obviously higher revenue but that revenue will flow down to profit at a higher margin than the rest of the owned and operated locations.

SeaWorld's Q2 numbers seem to be making Wall St. happy. Their stock is up on their earnings release:

Their results are relatively flat to last year, revenue solely up to due to higher prices through in-park spending.

Admission Revenue Down -2.2% | Admission Per Capita Down -2.9%
Food/Merch/Other Up 3.3% | Per Capita Up 2.5%
Operating Expenses Down -2.2%
Operating Income Up 5.8%
Attendance Up 0.3%

So admission revenue went down, however attendance went up... so those promos are working to get people in. Expenses are down -2.2% so it's helping their bottom line. Food/Merch costs were up, so SeaWorld has been cutting on labor/other expenses, which is pretty obvious when visiting the parks. Q3 is their biggest quarter, so it'll be interesting to see if this trend continues.

Corporate announced Q3 earnings, they're on a bit of a downward trend at the moment.

Revenue and Attendance are both down.

In-Park Per Capita Spending is starting to remain flat year over year. But admissions per capita is starting to decline with the heavy amount of continued discounting.

So they're gonna have to figure out how to get the crowds in without discounting even further.

Next year at least for SD will have a hard time

No Sesame Street place and we have a show down, the Sharks being redone and most likely the Penguins leaving

I'm kind of done with them right now, after taking away benefits and not even answering my email about the situation they don't care. Like people crap on Disney but Sea World for me is must more into not giving a crap about employees or the guests.

Best of luck Sea World you have lots of work to do

Six Flags Merger? lol

I mean I guess they could be bought by private equity but yeah. I feels like the beginning of the end

they've gone the private equity route before. Didn't work out well, like most private equity buys they just suck all the money out.
BGW could be a good park again, if they'd return it to it's broad demographic roots, and quit making it into just another
coaster park. There's too many of those in the East as it is. That teenager demo is dropping fast.
