Sorry, I should have been more clear: I'd be very surprised if they make a difference. I don't think they're lying in the press release. Probably.

Underwhelmed. It works well enough without the 3-D, but you can definitely feel that something is missing (I never got to ride the 3D version, but I could sense its removal). It needs more sets and props as the majority of the attraction is just screens with little theming.

My favorite scene is the pantry, where some of the ride vehicles hide the way real rats would. This is a cute ride that has adorable ride vehicles with personality (I honestly think the ride vehicles are the best part of this attraction). I wouldn't wait longer than 30 minutes to ride this.

It's fine without the 3D, but they need to add some props at the bottom of the screens like they did at Paris to not make it look so obvious.

Permits have been filed for that so hopefully a closure is announced soon.

Good. I'm sure that's welcome after losing the 3D. It needed more practical, for sure.

It'd be nice if they blended the elements and film a bit, like in Universal's screen rides.

Eh, if I wasn't too big on the ride with the 3D, doesn't seem I'll enjoy it without it.

The hoopla over 2 props in front of the screens seems a bit overblown.

Does it have the projections in the hallway before finale too? That was the best addition to the Paris version.

I hate 3D glasses so we enjoyed this ride still, but, I can see why it was needed. The whole ride, queue, score itself is just lovely and relaxing. Immediate top 5 Epcot ride for my BF & I.

The pleasant vibes are one of the attraction's best strengths. It's a bummer the restaurant wasn't included at Epcot because getting to actually eat at Remy's restaurant works so well in Paris to extend the atmosphere established on the ride.

It's so strange. Ratatoullie has had remarkable cultural legs; I feel like it has weirdly only grown in popularity since the 2000s. I have to imagine the energy towards having the Remy animatronic around would bring in enough additional dollars to offset any maintenence costs in keeping the figure going.

Maybe that energy would totally overwhelm the existing restaurant? Or maybe the restaurant just already sees enough traffic that they feel like it'd be superfluous. I'd be curious to know the exact thought process behind it.

Disney doesn’t own or operate either Les Chefs de France or Monsieur Paul. They are owned and operated by Jerome Bocuse's group- JBI, LLC. Thats the son of the original owner/operator Paul Bocuse back when it opened in 1982.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some significant legal verbiage that keeps it in the family indefinitely. Although it's possible that Disney could just not want to bother with it and it makes enough $ as is. I'd lean towards the former, but the truth is we just don't know.

The Italy restaurant is also managed by an outside group, right? Seems like one of the few areas Disney is happy to offload the burden to a vendor.

Yup. That’s Patina group.

They have Enzo’s in Disney Springs and both Italian restaurants Tutto and Via Napoli. They also run Space 220. Which obviously isn’t some old contract they have to abide by but a cognizant choice.

I know Yak & Yeti and Rainforest Cafe (both at DAK and DS) are Landrys owned.

And I know Mexico, China and Japan all have independent operators as well- I think each has just one owner per country who runs them all.

And I think there are a couple others I just don’t recall off the top of my head. I think the gelato place is a different company in France and I’m not sure if Biergarten or the crepe place are disney or not but I think they might be.

Edit: Disney owns Biergarten but JBI owns the crepe place.
