Fully agree with this!
As much as I would personally prefer to see Ghostbusters as the next attraction and initially thought it would be good to replace Rip Ride, I realize that's mostly just because a) I just prefer Ghostbusters as an IP and want to see it in the parks again and b) because the fire station facade is RIGHT THERE!!...but if I'm being honest, Ghostbusters just isn't the best suited IP choice for a coaster type ride as much as F&F is, and Ghostbusters truly deserves a dark ride experience instead.
Fast and Furious (as much as I personally don't like the franchise) deserves and has always deserved a coaster. Fast cars = fast coaster. It just makes sense. And with Hollywood building Hollywood Drift in their park, it makes sense for the sake of "synergy" and "cohesion" to just bring that same coaster to the New York space and label it "New York Drift."
Also, to reiterate above's point, putting F&F where Rip Ride currently was is really a two for one deal. You get F&F the coaster experience it deserves and was always better suited for and you (finally) get rid of Supercharged.
If it were up to me this is what I would do - Rip Ride is replaced by F&F: New York Drift. Supercharged closes and becomes Back to the Future or our version of an indoor Tram Tour where you ride through several classic movies (kind of a mix of Hollywood's Tram Tour and The Great Movie Ride). MIB (don't hate me...I also love the IP and the ride!) closes and gets re-themed and becomes Ghostbusters where instead of shooting aliens, you're now capturing ghosts with your proton packs. Everybody wins.
