For those who have rode, were there scare moments in the queue? I remember a statement came out saying there were going to be some scare moments while we wait.

How’s the new loading station? Is it themed pretty well? How’s the turntable? Are the vehicles pretty cool?

The new loading station is cool. Like if Popeyes loading station was inside of Frankenstein’s manor. The theming throughout the queue is amazing. The vehicles themselves are not really themed as far as I can remember, but they do have speaker by the head and they are able to vibrate and rumble underneath you

Vibrating seats? Sexy Dracula? What kind of ride is this?

I’d also just like to make a character list of who is in the ride and who isn’t for people who’d like to know. This will tell you who appears and how many time’s approximately in animatronic form.

Preshow is Victoria and Frankenstein. Victoria seemingly had a Projection mapped face.

Ride
Ygor
A static Figure of the Hunchback of Norte dame
The Phantom
Victoria x3
Frankenstein x3
Dracula x3
Various Brides of Dracula
The creature from the black lagoon
Wolfman X2
The mummy

Surprisingly no Bride or invisible man at all in the ride. Some of these may be static figures but with so many not working it’s hard to tell.

In one of Epic's Dark Universe promotional videos, senior creative Fances Franceshi noted that there are "14 animatronics across the ride floor". With this information and the list Rebo helpfully provided above, we can identify with pretty much 100% certainty which figures are AAs (be they functioning or not during technical rehearsals), and which are static.

Franceschi saying "across the ride floor" suggests the 14 does not count the pre-shows, which is strange, but when doing the maths there's no way to make it work that there are 14 figures total, after watching the AA reveal video with 2 Wolfmen in view, the Victoria and Creature preshow AAs, and the triple on-ride Victorias, Creatures, and Dracs, plus other characters. It has to be 14 on-ride, plus 2 off-ride.

So, this means that after the first pre-show Kuka arm, and the second pre-show projection-mapped Victoria and Creature, we have 14 on-ride AAs to pin-down. IMO, they are 1 Ygor, 3 Victoria, 3 Frankenstein, 3 Dracula, 1 Gillman (seen in AA reveal video months ago), 2 Wolfmen (seemingly both were in the reveal video too), and finally one Mummy (this last one is pure guesswork). The Hunchback has to be static based on how it's attached to the swinging bell, the Phantom is likely static as it's only moving parts if it had any would be its fingers as it played its piano, which we wouldn't notice as we sped past the fiery organ at high speed, and the Brides are likely mannequins due to how many there must be. We know some of these characters will also get additional appearances via screen media, so that's cool."

I'm assuming this means that scare actors will be used that weren't there during technical rehearsals. Anywhere you saw in the queue you surmise could be a scare actor hiding spot to jump out from?

No. In fact someone in my party was actively looking if there were Boo holes and we did not see any. The queue really sets up the story that builds from room to room as more pieces of information are shared through artwork and theming.

Hey! First time poster, hope this okay! Also curious if the mummy is male or female, we haven’t seen any images.

Can anyone explain the plot of the ride? Like I’m guessing Victoria has control of the monsters until Dracula gets involved but what happens? How are the brides involved? How does the ride resolve?

Phantom is 100% a animatronic, he’s one of the few that works 100% of the time.

What is the storyline for the ride? Are you supposed to be getting a tour to see captive monsters almost like a zoo and then everything goes wrong?

"In Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein continues the work of her ancestors deep below the family estate. A demonstration of her experiments to control monsters goes awry when Dracula leads a revolt of enraged monsters including The Wolf Man, The Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and more."

Although this ride has a single riders line the pre show is almost worth going through the full line each time. Seriously impressive stuff going on before you even get on the ride.

There's a heat blast in one of Dracula's scenes but I don't recall fire being seen yet.

You do get what I'm pretty sure is Wolfman slobber spat you in one scene. So that's nice.

I think the way to square this with the fact that Phantom is an AA is to assume that one or two Frank/Victoria/Drac appearances are screens. That gives room for Phantom and maybe one or two of the Bride of Dracula AAs.
