Yes, most likely they are doing what SeaWorld did and outsourcing the entertainment to a third party. Many of those people will be rehired by that outside company.

i apologize for bringing this back to one of my favorite hobby horses, but this kind of thing is, to me, why disneyland is the best theme park on earth. there is so much to see without ever getting in a queue. you'll see more kinetic action, more streetsmophere, on main street at disneyland than you do at most theme parks. for all my quibbles with the way modern disneyland is run, this remains an example of what a great theme park should do.

Disneyland cuts entertainment seasonally all the time.

'Rumors' that entertainment will be outsourced.

Not rumors. This situation is happening closer to home than I'd hope.

Currently only about 40 or so entertainment staff have been kept on. The rest of the workforce is planned to be replaced with third-party contractors, RWS Global to be exact. The entire Stage Management and Tech teams have been laid off, alongside about 85% of the performers.

Only barebones entertainment offerings within the hotel, park, and Peppa Pig Theme Park will be retained. They had already shut down the Ski Show they offered next to Cypress Gardens at the end of 2024, with no expectation of replacement anytime soon.

There is some talk that this could be effecting Legoland parks globally as well, alongside other positions and departments like Attractions or Merchandise. I haven't seen concrete evidence of this.

Regardless of the last point, this doesn't seem to be a Legoland FL decision, but a much higher Merlin decision. Seemingly for the pure reason of cost-cutting. Lots of people, including many many good friends of mine have been effected by this situation. It's incredibly unfortunate.

Legoland FL officially announced their new coaster to replace Flight School. To open in 2026. Coaster track is visibly prepped near the water park.

Don't let it go unacknowledged that this "big announcement", which was itself supposed to be made back in October 2024, just so happened to land on the exact day that 230+ Entertainment employees were laid off. Seems like convenient timing.
