USJ's JP area uses mossy and suttle colors and has more granite and rock features throught the Land. It looks much more Jurassic park and just has a general exotic feel. Ours looks like a public school court yard. If there is a JP refurb in Orlando, it should be molded and redesigned after USJ's Jurassic park area (IMO). I really think it is the nicest JP land out of all of the universals. Their restaurant even has a raptor show in which warning signs come up on the menue monitors above the food court lines, and red sirens start to sound around the restaurant. Raptors come into the restaurant while JP music is playing, the whole Shibang.

There are also other dinosaurs such as triceratops and spinasorous's walking around the park.

And lastly I rather have what USJ has, which is a discovery resturants rather than a discovery center and separately, a JP restaurant. Here's my reasoning. No one really cares about our DC (discovery center), and the restaurant isn't that amazing. Since our DC has two floors, we can have a nice remodeled VC on the top floor, and an even nicer remodeled restaurant on the second floor. The restaurant can even have the same raptor show as the one in USJ. Good idea?

Yes, this is what it should be. The mobile raptor with the spieler is the key to making it work. IOA is good but the one in Japan is the best I have seen and I hope they bring that to UOR

I hope we get some of what USJ has developed, maybe in the future?

I agree with you up to a point. The Discovery Centre may be old, but it is the defining feature of the land. It's what connects the land to the movies. Also, if IOA ever gets a nighttime show on the lagoon, then that water front area on the opposite side of the centre is necessary for viewing space.

I propose that the centre itself stays, but...
1) The whole thing is completely refurbished. Update the dino nursery/egg area with newer technology. Keep the skeletons.
2) The bottom floor exhibits on the west and south exhibits are torn out and turned into space for the new E ticket, its queue, and its entrance. The E ticket itself is located party in these spaces, the backstage areas behind them, and the Triceratops Encounter area.
3) The top floor is simply reorganized. Part of the area on the south side is turned into space for the E ticket. The shop and quick service are switched. This shop turns into the exit for the ride, so you exit the E ticket on the second floor.

Also, by moving the paths around more space can be made for the E ticket.

Lastly, the path that leads to the secondary bridge should be more welcoming and more obvious to attract guests away from the main bridge. Currently it is hidden away. This can be accomplished through simply signage and slight path relocation.

EDIT: Think about The Land pavillion at Epcot, and how Soarin' works in it.

What is an E ticket? Is this an idea for a new JP ride.

The Magic Kingom, Disneyland, and other parks in the 60s and 70s and maybe in the 80s (not sure) utilized a different ticket system than we use today. When you entered the parks you bought ticket booklets. These ticket booklets gave you the specific package of tickets labelled A through E. Each of these tickets would give you a one time entrance to the attractions that each was designated for. A tickets were very relatively cheap, so they went with the kiddie and flat ride type attractions, such as carousels. Originally I believe they only went up to a C ticket, but as the parks became more popular they added the D and E ticket. The tickets weren't actually tied to the caliber of the ride so to say, but instead they were tied to popularity and guest throughput.

E ticket is used today to mean a signature ride for a land or park that would correspond to an E ticket if they still existed. For example, Gringotts and Forbidden Journey would definitely be E tickets as they are some of the most popular rides in the park. Most of the rides in Seuss Landing would either be A, B, or C tickets as none get excessive waits or are extremely popular.

TL,DR: E ticket means big new ride. A ticket means flat ride. B-D are the inbetween.

Does that make any sense?

I think so? USJ has a system to get into the wizarding world, and you can only go when the ticket tells you. Is that it?

Oh wait, I get it. I just had to retread it. All that aside, what does an E ticket have to do with the JP discovery cenetr?

The design @scott_walker had (I think it was him.) above said E ticket because he was proposing a new major Jurassic Park attraction go where the Discovery Centre is. Whether that meant inside the Centre or outside, I don't know. If you look back in the Future of Jurassic Park thread there is a lot of concept arts (both official and fan created) of ideas for a new JP E ticket. If you wanna continue discussing that, then we should move it there.

I think we should discuss this here. But, didn't you say no one uses E tickets anymore?

The ticket itself is out of use, but in the theme park fan community the A through E ticket terms are used to describe the caliber of the attraction. It's a word/phrase that has taken a new meaning. Kinda like how we still say "horse power" for cars, yet the cars don't use horses as old carriages did.

Maybe the bottom floor? Maybe outside? or perhaps they would expand it a bit...I just know one of the best views of the parks is missed by the majority of people not going to the 'front' of Discovery Center..It would be cool if they re-routed space so it was a part of the overall flow of the land...I know IOA was built with the intention of breaking away from the path and exploring...but that are just seems so dead

BTW we should probably take this discussion to the JP Expansion thread

Very true. The front of the VC looks terrable, it's the back part that looks nice.

To continue this in the right place.

I only stumbled across this path this year after getting caught in the rain after visiting however many times since the park opened and it's a great view and easily overlooked.

Moving the path around the water could easily free up a lot of room and given how many people miss this path and view, it could make the place feel completely different.
