Interesting to see that there's no HHN branding on the Sinners shirt, but there's a figure for the carnival set. Licensing is weird lol

I wonder if that would happen to do with the abnormally long lines reported for the merch. I like Sinners but when you put nothing horror related on it ( just the main characters, like fallout) it does nothing for me. That generic hat, come on. I guess that property is a lot bigger than I thought.

I agree on the noticing details / missing scares sentiment. I experience the same thing every year.

Now to jump into the general conversation about “limiting house runs:”

I mostly agree with the “limiting runs” sentiment. But …. I do think this is a local versus out-of-stater conversation, driven by issues on how current ticket packages are structured, and mixed with of a lack of other types of appropriate ticket package options.

As we have done for 12 years now, my group of 3 is coming in from PA for 9 nights total. This equates to 5 nights of HHN within our 9 night stay. It’s simply more cost effective for us to get the frequent fear pass with express based on typical available packages.

Every year each member of my party pays roughly $6,000 for airfare, hotel, food, drink and merch. Add the FFP to reach $7,000. On HHN off days we hit Epic for a day, and Volcano for a day. Close to $8,000 now. I work a second job to afford this.

Universal is making a lot of money off of us. So you better believe we’re going through the houses as many times as our passes allow us to, and if we like the houses enough to do so.

For our scenario, this is 5 times if we go through each once per night. Typically, we usually stop going through half the houses after night 3 (some houses have been after night 2) and then just focus on our favorites.

I’ve been a broken record about this in past years: they need better ticket package options for scenarios like mine. Locals going through a house 40 times is different than folks like me doing a few houses 5 times IMO.

But why would my group not do what the pass we paid for literally allows us to do? Especially with how much money we spend.

Agreed, but I don't think this is the argument. You're behaving perfectly rationally. What I'm advocating is for Universal to change that system so that they're no longer incentivizing guests (any guests, whether it's out-of-towners or locals) to maximize the number of runs they do through a given house.

For the people who really, really want to do houses as many times as possible without waiting in line, single-night Express is available. I agree that offering some kind of out-of-towner multi-night ticket would help clean up some of these problems, though I'd be curious how many of us would actually save money on a four-night ticket vs. whichever "frequent fear" pass we end up purchasing.

I think the current FFP/FFP+ is severely underpriced for anyone (local or otherwise) who wants to come 10+ times. Heck, even 5+ times.

I would completely understand if they got rid of it, and it would only cost me like an extra $100 to just get tickets with express for my five nights (if I’m recalling my math … but it was generally incidental in my larger totals).

I’ve also said this in past years: I’ll gladly also “reserve” the nights I’m coming. The FFP I get allows me to go like 40 nights, and I know I’m only going for 5. Give me a way to communicate that to assist with crowd control.

I want to emphasize my stance, as I didn’t say (or think) people *should not* go through a house more than twice. I don’t think people need to go through more than twice. I’m not trying to limit what people do. I completely understand why pass-holders go through more than that. My stance is informed by Universal’s goal that performances in houses be largely “uniform” each time (we had multiple events directors tell my cast “every guests deserve the same experience every time”), and the fact that I can see and remember a lot of a house on a singular run. I get bored on the third time through. I’m if the mindset that, if I can’t catch an effect or scare at least 50% of the time, it’s a badly designed effect/scare and Universal messed up with it.

I think long lines were mostly due to the teaser announcement. People were ready to line up before they knew what the announcement even was.
ST and Hellraiser would have had the same lines me thinks?

The 5-night or X-night package(s) with express vs. a Frequent Fear type with Express should be available if they cancel or severely limit the frequent fear with express. It should also be a savings over 5 single tickets with 5 express & a frequent fear pass with individual express for multiple nights. I'm not sure how many locals would buy something like this, but for out of towners, if I'm paying for 10 nights with express or an UFF with express, and the cost is the same, then I am still happy because I'm paying that anyway. Although I don't think it should be the same cost, and it would depend on what restrictions they might put on that X-Day with express package, like consecutive days vs. any days or block out dates, etc....

To way in here, No one is saying to leave the event early since you done everything because you’re right, if you paid for it, use it. I myself do multiple runs of the houses. Yes I think that’s excessive but I still do it. I’m not saying leave early at all or would I if I didn’t want to leave early. But do a house sorely to get your runs up is excessive.

And that's the problem: UFF w/ Express is too good of a value, and was a reason why everyone thought express was "oversold" for HHN 32, leading to the extreme caps on those types of multi-night tickets sold for HHN 33 and 34.

The fact that HHN Hollywood doesn't allow express options for their Frequent Fear tickets, I think they got it right. It's a matter of time when Universal Orlando matches what HHN Hollywood does for their multinight tickets.

If you want express, cough up the $$$ for the specific night you wanna cut the lines. Otherwise, enjoy the fact that you can go multiple nights, take your time in the park/zones, and visit the houses leisurely in standby lines (without clogging up express) throughout the season.
