What does the Super Bowl have to do with HHN? There is zero correlation here, nor is the Super Bowl some kind of requirement to make it into HHN because Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath never performed in the Super Bowl...yet they all appeared at HHN.

Meanwhile, there is the rumor that Ice Nine Kills (a horror metal band) could be involved with the event this year, possibly via a soundtrack for one of the houses such as...Heavy Metal Hell. Kind of an odd time to be stating we will never see metal again at HHN.

Look, Bad Bunny's halftime show was fantastic and obviously a big hit at the Super Bowl. But just because there was an awesome performance somewhere does not mean Bad Bunny should work with the event, especially when they've had zero connection to what the event is about. I know I've been a champion that Horror is a very broad genre and comes in many different flavors...but this is a case where there is not even a sliver of mild horror here.

is ice nine kills famous enough for hhn Orlando?
I don't know, I barely knew of them,
I could see them at Hollywood

No shade (different strokes and all), but putting Metallica with some of the other band names on here is…. a choice haha.

I think folks here would certainly say a band like Metallica is at least on the table to eventually appear. Bridges the gap of mainstream and horror adjacent nicely, with about as much commercial success as you can have in that genre. Similar dynamic to the Weeknd in many ways. But many (most) pop artists dont really fit that mold.

I just came here to say: Ozzy. THAT would be the ultimate metal house since he actually created the genre. He has more material for a house than they could fit. Still hoping Legacy's original starting comment for this spec season has some weight to it.

As for Gaga - she has loads of dark material that would easily translate. I think its disingenous to write her off in such a way - especially when you're asking for Bad Bunny? Is he a great entertainer? Yes. Does he belong at HHN. No.

from what I can gather looking at different social media comments and the reddits and just from general conversation and just the general feedback that I see when music and hhn are mentioned,
i always get the feeling that hhn not only wants to work with the biggest and most hip acts in town, the most popular acts with teens, with the younger crowds,
sadly not only is metal on the decline in recent years, but young people aren't really into metal,
but universal Orlando has already skipped Ozzy Osbourne and Slash when universal California has them,
we literally could already have those here, but we never do. ( I'm actually surprised we even had rob zombie here and not just in California, felt like Rob zombie would have been a California only thing)

the superbowl thing is just a measure of success that is big enough for a band to be at hhn,

but what made me wonder about bad bunny for hhn Orlando was just that the scarezone or house based on him could be very strongly based on Puerto rico and Latinx stories, myths, his videos or music might not be horror, but it could have feature him and based on puerto rico legends.
that's how I was thinking. I know he's not a horror artist, but he could have cool ideas for hhn

The rumor is that they will be providing the score for a house, not that there will be a house based on them. There's an important distinction there.

Back when those houses occurred, the line-ups for Orlando and Hollywood differed from each other a lot more than they do now, so I wouldn't read too much into that.

None of this changes the reality that Bad Bunny is not associated with horror. Simply declaring "this celebrity/artist might have cool ideas for HHN" isn't enough to warrant speculation, or you could just bring up anyone popular.

"Why don't [Taylor Swift/Tom Cruise/Adam Sandler] do an HHN house? S/he's popular enough and might have ideas!" Do you see how nonsensical that sounds?

If Bad Bunny turns out an album with an undeniable horror aesthetic at some point, we can revisit this conversation, but otherwise, if you want to continue to talking about it, you need to take it to the wish list thread, or if you want to pitch a Puerto Rico Legends house concept, go for it in the design-an-HHN event thread.
