Yeah, unfortunately I think that's what Universal wants lol

Spinning off of that though, I'm curious if we could finally see a revamp of the ticketing system. We saw them drastically lower the amount of multi-night express tickets this year.

Could we see them get rid of a tier like RoF? Implement multi-night tickets like the park structure (1-day, 2-day, 3-day, etc)?

Went like 2/5 in initial guesses last year which is two better than I normally do that was neat!

1. FNAF 2 - In the immortal words of one Mr. Eugene Krabs, “Hello, I like money”

2. Stranger Things 5 - See above

3. Scream - With two years of Paramount involvement at the event, this feels like it could finally be the year

4. Hellraiser - Already some early rumors around it

5. The Conjuring - Not sure what the situation is with this and Six Flags, but if it’s at all on the table and I was Uni I’d certainly be going for it

Other candidates:

IT/Welcome to Derry
- The show is doing really well right now, if Conjuring isn’t available this could be a good WB one to try for (Stephen King cooperation pending)

Smile - Could be an alternate Paramount option if Scream still isn’t on the table

Wednesday - If they decide to hold off on ST for one reason or another this could be a good alternate

Resident Evil - Another video game option that has both a new game and a movie slated for next year

Gremlins/Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - Other WB options as well as possible comedy houses

A Nightmare on Elm Street - Another possible slasher that is overdue for a return

Evil Dead - New movie next year

Ozzy Osbourne/Music house - I know Legacy put this rumor out there a few days ago but personally I kind of expect this one to go the way of TLOU 2 from last year and be largely dead by January, but I’m including it here just in case.

Warner bros is restricted for now, if Comcast gets the rights. Which I hoping they will, they can pull out of Six flags fright fest.

It's been said a million times but Zombie Island would actually be a super good and scary maze. Its a shame we may never actually get it at the event..

If they don’t do a family friendly thing again then totally yes. Go fully silly with it. Make it a scare zone.

Warner Bros. Discovery is working with Universal on Fan Fest Nights, with a full on Scooby-Doo/Universal Monsters collaboration experience for the event. And that the only IP's specifically Warner Bros. Discovery that are in use, is that of The Conjuring (which I expect it to return for Fright Fest next year) and Trick 'r Treat for atleast SFMM.

What matters is what exactly they pick, and how much it'd be to get it to work (and if it'd be something that'd be given public interest).

I don’t think Six Flags has the rights to every WB IP for Fright Fest, otherwise they’d be doing way more WB stuff than they currently are, and I also don’t think the rights they do have are at all permanent

What I’m saying is, they keep their IP’s Hostage, but since they’re losing money from the company. Maybe things will work out.

The point of the 11th house is to help with the demand HHN is seeing. This year was very difficult to experience only half of the event. An 11th house should, at the very least, help reduce some of the strain from the other houses and make it easier to guarantee guests experience enough in one night.

Same goes for entertainment, there's the demand for a 2nd stage show that can alleviate the HNF shows that reach capacity for every showing. The average guest that doesn't know to lineup 30 mins prior to showtime is unfortunately left out.

Simply said, the point of additional offerings is to not only spread demand, but guarantee that the "casual guest" can experience x number of attractions during their visit.

I know it’s easy to speculate about being an anniversary, but I don’t believe 35 is really that special of a number. You can’t treat every 5th year like it’s a big deal and I think we’re at the point where the major celebrations will come every decade.

I think what matters more that it's a "Milestone" than anything else, and that it's worth celebrating. I'd also say Hollywood being 20 years since they began the "Revival" Era also helps quite a bit that next year's going to be a bit quirky and fun.

Yeah the other thing with SF is they’re in a pretty bad financial spot right now and may not even be able to retain those Fright Fest IP’s

Allegedly they were just days/weeks away from losing their Peanuts license a few months ago.

Tbh this, this is their revival era. And there are new fans of Icons that might Grow into Popularity next year. Including merch and stuff, that People might find interesting to them.

Like a Fan of the Pumpkin Lord myself, Including the General Population. One Day the icons, Will become Big and have merchandise out of the park across the whole country.

35 is not a big number, but Uni will absolutely use it as an excuse to make more money off of Jack/icons and sequel house merch anyway lmao

Yeah, Universal isn't going to say "well, 35 isn't that big of a deal so who cares"

They're going to want to sell that anniversary merch lol

I didn't attend HHN30, but from the looks of it - I wouldn't want them to approach it like that. Sprinkle in some nostalgia here and there, but I don't want an entire zone of "best of" characters

Probably the dumbest question of the season, so far, but would it be Ozzy Osborne the solo act or Black Sabbath more generally? Either way, it would definitely be something I'll get to cross off my HHN Wishlist. And certainly one I never thought I'd get to cross off.

Precisely, the icons must have their own places, not be mushed up together. I want it to have their own places where they can roam.

I’m not going to lie, Scooby Doo is the one family friendly property I’d be fully on board with.

It/ It: Welcome to Derry would be a monster. Even if they’re able to only get Welcome due to King or rights being hell, it’ll be huge. I’m going to go with

It/Welcome to Derry
Scream
Hellraiser
Ozzy
Blumhouse

as the IPs.

As for the Icon, it would be cool as someone mentioned if you did a park split between Jack and Oddfellow. Have a chaotic “war” between the scareactors in a zone. Have them make snide comments to you if you have their enemies merch on (merch sales opportunity).

I agree honestly. 35 doesn't feel as grand as 20, 25, 30. That's why I was unsure if that was the direction they were going to take next years' event.

However, given the Oddfellow symbol in El Artista, and Jack's cameo in Dolls (both houses which were featured prominently as photo-ops at the HHN Bar as a little aside), it seems like we could be in for some returning Icon characters in the spotlight. Oddfellow VS Jack has been an idea thrown around since 2023 in the very early lead-up to Sinister and Surreal. That alone seems to point in the direction of your usual anniversary year offerings.

I believe 35 will act as a pseudo-anniversary year. Not as elaborate or grand as HHN25 or 30, and not drawing attention to the year specifically, but still featuring certain returning concepts in the spotlight. Jack VS Oddfellow event theme, with a house and roaming characters, another Slaughter 2 house/zone, a Sinister / Surreal house, etc., but mostly just like another other year. Maybe not exactly "35 Years of Fear" again, instead having a few major concepts from the last 5 years in "Hero"-roles for the event. Prominent houses and zones, themes, and experiences. That's my take on it.
