Hi all,
I was under the impression that I'd be skipping HHN 35 this year. A couple things got shuffled around and it looks like my wife and I can make a trip.

I'm trying to get a feel on the Premium Scream Night. Based on the last few pages, it seems like the rumor is capacity will be better managed this year AND they may release more tickets for 8/27? Is that true?

We have no idea for sure. It’s the rumor. Based off last year it looks bad. But yes the rumor this year is it will be better managed. I not sure if more tickets will go on sale as more tickets already went on sale after it sold out the first time. They did add a second day in October so hopefully that will help with the crowds.

Thank you! Is there a way to have an alert for if(?) the tickets go back on sale, or is it totally random?

The rumor is that it is hard capped at 4,000 attendees compared to what last year was (according to online speculation) 11,000ish guests. The tickets that were “added” were pulled from an un-sold pool of tickets that were not for the general public but contributed to the overall 4,000 ticket cap. If that pool continues not to sell out, then yes it’s possible they add tickets from that pool into the GP for them to buy. But, as of today I have no idea if the secondary pool has sold out or not so I can’t say if that’s even possible anymore at this point. It could be genuinely sold out completely to the 4,000 capacity now.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but I am finally attending my first Orlando HHN after over a decade of wanting to attend ever since I saw the art of the scare special. Been going to HHN Hollywood since 2007 so I am somewhat seasoned to how things go. I have express and I am only unfortunately able to attend the event for one night but I was looking for any tips or suggestions. I really cant believe I am going, ive been dreaming about this forever. Thanks!

Happy you’re getting to attend!

The most common advice will be try to do Scream Early / Stay & Scream if you can. If not an option (and you can bear the long hours), staying til close often means you are getting nearly empty lines for certain houses the last ~1 hour of the night (depending on the house and the night, but the sprungs where Invasion and HR BnG are this year are usually decent bets). Opinions will vary wildly here, so this is purely my take: I enjoy Nightmare Fuel once a season, but if I was going a single night I’d easily rather see the lagoon show or an additional house and nix Nightmare Fuel given the time commitment.

Hope you enjoy!

P.s. also try to allocate some time in the streets!

Well the goods news is - in my experience, you will easily clear through all 10 houses with express. With several hours to spare!

You'll have plenty of time to see both shows, grab food, and take in the scare zones as well.

Have a blast!

I'll also add that if you can, upgrade your express pass to unlimited express when you enter the front gates. It's usually a $35 upcharge but *worth* it if universal is offering it that evening (not guaranteed to be offered each night of the event).

Hopefully this means that the tickets that keep popping up are just recycled inventory from cancellations or unreleased batches on the (alleged) 4,000 cap per night. Good news overall if that's the case.

Another thing some of you might have noticed: If you're booking a stay for HHN that is at least 5 nights at an on-site hotel and you're searching for Annual Passholder rates, you might see a posted per night rate that is higher once you click on the hotel itself. I figured out what the issue is, for some hotels and some nights, the posted price is actually from the publicly available special offer of 30% off discount. And the Annual Passholder rate that you click on is actually more expensive than this publicly available discount. For my stay at the end of the event from Oct 28 - Nov 2, I was able to save $50 at Cabana Bay by going with the special offer instead of the Annual Passholder discount rate. I've never seen a rate available that's cheaper than the AP discounted rate, but it's actually happening now in some situations. It's worth checking if you're stay is 5 nights or more. Usually the AP rate will be cheaper, but not every single situation.

100% worth it - we always upgrade at the hotel in the morning!

If PSN for August 27 is important to you, you'll need to check the app/website for tickets multiple times a day. Seeing that rain is forecasted for much of next week, you might be lucky and snag a couple of tickets from those who are canceling.
