I'm guessing internally they know they bought a lemon with ST 5. It's been integral enough to the event over the past decade that it deserves one last send-off, but the show flopped so hard I don't see how that doesn't translate to the house.

Not a gamer, no ties to the IP, but ... if The Powers That Be have dictated we must have a "corporate synergy" zone, I'd rather Fortnitmares over some random Blumhouse slasher that will be forgotten by next year. Such an odd choice, and something only HHN could even attempt. Maybe they'll thread the needle and make a surprise hit, maybe it will be the trainwreck the board seems to expect, but either way it will be memorable.

I'm definitely going to take time from my private RIP tour this year to do some people watching in the Fortnightmares scare zone. I'm sure this zone will be entertaining/memorable.

I'm thinking that ST 5 will be announced tomorrow. Then Hellraiser with multi-night tickets in early july, then EDB when the movie drops in mid July, then a week of Originals in early August, along with Ozzy being the last IP to be announced in mid Aug.

When it comes to HHN announcements, they will go their own way be it off the schedule or unexpected delays, as pasts years show it can vary from year to year.

However, there is something that has been consistent. For the past four HHN's, all the IP houses have been announced at least a month before opening night. And all the houses have been announced at least a month in advance for the past three. (31 was an outlier as the originals were all announced less than a month.)

Opening night is August 28th, so I've got a hunch July will be quite plentiful. And for @hunnylvr 's sake I really don't think they're going to announce something like Ozzy a mere couple weeks before opening.

This is kind of where I'm at. I'd rather them take a stab at something like this instead of another Purge/Blumhouse concept again.

At the very least it should be somewhat visually interesting, and I can easily seeing it surprising people.
