I wonder who it is composed by? There not using movie soundtracks anymore for houses that is interesting.

My guess

Yeah, I thought it was interesting that Lora Sauls referred to it as a “music score”. The word choice there makes me think of a soundtrack.

“As soon as you walk through those turnstiles, you are gonna be hit with those gothic tones and textures.”

“You are gonna feel those same textural tones in our lighting elements all around the park - in our overall music score, that is all around the park. This year, our word of the year is: immersive.”

It is. People saw “paintings” and immediately assumed Killustrator because fans have a tendency to not consider new ideas but only things they’ve seen before.

Whoa, hold the phone. Are you saying HHN fans are blinded by their own narrow-minded point of view and repeatedly scream into an echo chamber demanding the same nostalgic icons and properties year after year and mindlessly repeating unsubstantiated rumors that support their own personal wants and biases while rejecting any change that they see as negative without considering the positive possibilities of alternative viewpoints, original ideas, or fresh takes?

Those are some grave and serious accusations, friend.

I'm a big fan of what we've seen of the overarching conservatory aesthetic so far, but it is kind of funny to do it in a year where the IP line up is "retrofuturistic post-apocalyptic desert, summer camp, grody clown, WWE, Showbiz Pizza". Not a whit of gothic energy in the bunch.

I do agree that is an amusing juxtaposition, though the influences can be carried better through the zones and perhaps an original house or two. We've already got El Artista, and the rumored Graveyard house is quite a dead ringer for the theme, too.

He's a tremendous speaker because there HAS to be parts of him that become immediately exhausted when seconds after revealing an original creation that really seems to be a foundational piece of this year's event, one of the first questions he's asked is if this character is an 'Icon' or not.

The fandom crazy sometime, tho.

While not an Icon, I think it's a great middle ground to have a central character that ties in with the event's theme and aesthetic, and also I believe our first major hispanic semi-Icon/original character!

I'm assuming when they talk about music they mean the general Parkwide music, not necessarily for the zones and houses.

Okay now moving on, If they decide to use Killustrator for a future year it’s going to Manga Themed. Which would be very cool.
