And here I thought everyone's favorite was 2014's Dracula Untold :p:skull:
(although Hollywood's double push-cart scare was effective the first time)

I wonder if the Orlando team would want to give Dracula a proper modern house? We only saw his brides in the Bride VS house, and he was shoehorned into Legends Collide because of Hollywood + Marketing. Maybe they skip Creature for now and work more with him specifically?

My sense is, unless there's a specific synergy forced upon them, the creatives in charge of these events are looking for a good story to tell. So, if they feel they've got a good Dracula story more than they have a good Creature story, while taking into account all the hurdles the houses face, they'll go in that direction. Which is a long way to say, I could see them going many different ways if Creature isn't in the cards this year.

I low-key really want just a simple Dracula house this year. They've done all the Monsters at once (Except Gilly), they've done Frankenstein's monster and the Bride, Hollywod has done Frankenstein and the Wolfman, they've done the Phantom, Invisible Man, and the Hunchback in one house, and then they've also done the Mummy, Dracula, and the Wolfman in one house.

I think it's time Dracula get his own house. I think there's a lot of material to work with right there. I though for sure the 32 Monsters house would've been focused on Dracula for getting revenge on the Bride for killing his brides, but I was surprised they didn't go with that angle. Maybe they could do that story this year.

That was the storyline plan Murdy had for Hollywood. Drac wanted the Mummy's cursed amulet to gain the power (to walk in daylight?) & go after Bride. However, Orlando wanted the Wolfman, so he was thrown in (thanks Orlando). His motive was to get the amulet & try to break the curse of the werewolf.

Unfortunately last year had a random side quest that deviated the storyline set up on both coasts. So might as well just do Creature..

Dracula has been pretty prevalent these past few years. I would imagine they would give him a break for a while cause he was in the first house and Legends, and you could count his brides too in Bride. Then again it’s Universal. Fans were tired of Walking Dead, but they did that multiple years cause it’s a cash cow.

Honestly didn't even think about this.... I'm guessing the Cadillac Universal purchased would be on display in front of Universal Cinemark when Frozen Empire hits theaters. Then it could be relocated to sit out front of a Ghostbusters Tribute Store similar to the Triceratops photo-op for the JP store.

Could just be another story featuring the big Monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolf-Man, etc. There's always a story to tell with these characters. A Frankenstein Meets The Wolf-Man-esque house would be epic. I'd love for them to explore Nosferatu as well.

Wolf-Man and Nosferatu hit theaters this year....

The Cadillac is likely for the new parade that is rumored. Will include movies from the 80's including ghostbusters and BTTF.

I know, but I find it hard to believe Universal wouldn't take up the chance to display the Ecto-1 from Frozen Empire out front of Universal Cinemark. Maybe they already have that version of the Ecto-1 lol.

I would not connect the Ecto-1 article to HHN.

It appears that Crystal Lake is only just going into production this summer, so that would rule out the series for HHN 2024 unfortunately.

Are all AMC shows off the cards now? I'm a little confused where rights sit for Walking Dead spin-offs or Interview With The Vampire.

Unpopular opinion here:

Aside from Creature, I wish they'd take a break from the Monsters. It will never happen, but I'd like to see that house space dedicated to another original.

I would not be opposed to giving the classic monsters a rest every other year.

In their place you can focus on other folklore monsters from other parts of the world.
Monstrous is a perfect example (and I really would like to see Orlando’s take.)

At least for me, all 4 of Orlando's Universal Monsters have been some of the strongest, if not the strongest, houses in the retrospective years they have appeared, so I say if creative has some more good ideas, I'll love to see more.

They did kinda start that with La Llorona with the "Urban Legends" moniker - but that was over a decade ago now. Thought it would've been great to see different takes on that (although we did get the Yeti and its own series now).

As far as Monsters, as long as there is a story to tell, I'm content. There are still a couple left, but after that - take the break.

I'm still waiting for the Yeti haunt where the super soldiers from Shadow Creek Labs take them down once and for all...

I do think it's an interesting point, however, once the Classic Monster stories have run out, what's next? I'm curious if Epic will increase or decrease the demand for more, but I'd agree that there's still enough for a few more haunts- but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I hope this year is their swan song and makes room for a new annual staple.

I like the classic monsters as much as the next guy but not the same ones and in different ways maybe.

I won't die happy until I get Yeti in Space!

I would love to see more houses that dive into folklore and urban legends. The Monsters are great, but like I said, I think 5 years straight of UCM houses then followed up by an entire theme park land may start to give some people fatigue (at least the general public).

I'd love to see a solo creature house, and maybe even a solo Wolfman house. But outside of that... please give it a rest lol
