Far from the biggest year. There's been quite a few in recent years that have had higher attendance than this past year.

Yeah, I'm asking around for info but I don't see how S&D is somehow the second "guest favorite" zone.

Eddie as the Icon, slasher theme with the following IP's: Fear Street, Chucky, Monsters, and one more. Probably Halloween or Scream (and I know I say this every year but I would love to see Slasher, check it out and you'll see what I mean).

I agree here. I think there are some limits to what they can do due to the proximity of the animals that are boarded there overnight. It's also a smaller amphitheater that's heavily customized for the animal performances... and there isn't sufficient space to stage crowds waiting to get in. That area is currently a serious pressure point already.

That isn't to say they can't do a show in Animal Actors... but it'd have to be a small-scale show, ala a more intimate magic act (think Brushwood), not something big and loud like Nightmare Fuel.

I mean they should have 4 shows minimum at the event, so a smaller scale show there would be great (yes I know they’re not gonna have 4 shows, but they *should*)

It’s a shame they have to use the plaza stage as queue space and can’t put a show there.

This year was the 40th anniversary of My Bloody Valentine (the original 1981 version). Harry Warden did make an appearance in 2009 for the Silver Screams maze, but I would really like to see one based on the original and not the remake. It's a highly underrated slasher and would make for some fun set pieces.

I think with the current Halloween trilogy coming to a close with Halloween Ends next year and Universal having distribution rights to all of these films, it'd be foolish not to think that Halloween has a high chance of showing up, especially with it being HHN's Halloween year (HHN 31). And to just to get it out of the way since it'll probably be talked about quite a bit until we figure out if it's coming or not, Stranger Things 4 is something I wouldn't be at all surprised at Universal wanting again just with all the merch and F&B possibilities the IP brings.
I think we all need to keep this at the top of mind. HHN is very aware of its "Golden Birthday "of 31(when you turn the age of the day you were born on in a particular month). Don't underestimate the fact they can market the hell out of their birthday like they did with Sweet 16. I think they'd be wise to do an all out fun party vibe commercial, while splicing demented footage of happiness at guests' expense.

Just speculation here but I would also not be surprised to see Samhain in some form or another whether it involves Trick r Treat or not. He is the "God of Halloween" after all.

You're not the first or only person to point this out, but I thought I'd quote yours...just because.

I see Bourne's venue being a highly unlikely location for a show. The giant props are not easily relocated, there's not enough backstage room, nor greenroom space and the venue is fairly popular and also very new. They're not going to lose a popular daytime, air conditioned show for 3-4 months(prep, show run, breakdown) just for an HHN show. BMG sounds more likely, although the turnaround for Grinch would be hell.

Guessing Chucky will use a mix of puppeteers and more smaller actors, alongside face characters to represent the kids, Andy, Kyle, Nica, and Tiff. Assuming it happens of-course.

I think Last Night in SoHo, Chcuky, and Nope (I didn't include Nope in my spec list, but I could absolutely buy it happening). All three are not only new IP, but new IP that is owned by Universal.
I pray we've seen the last of human sized Chuckies...not really a huge fan of the IP, but little ankle biter sized puppets of him moving around a house would be pretty terrifying. Puppet Theatre: Oops All Chucky edition would work for me.

Yeah this past year would have been the perfect time to do it. It’ll eventually happen, but I doubt next year.

If we are thinking of a few IPs that have an upcoming anniversary on the horizon, here are some note worthy ones:
  • Trick 'r Treat (2007)
  • Rec (2007)
  • The Ring (2002)
  • Red Dragon (2002)
  • Army of Darkness (1992)
  • Candyman (1992)
  • Hellraiser (1987)
  • The Lost Boys (1987)
  • Evil Dead 2 (1987)
  • The Thing (1982)
Not expecting 90% of these to be on most speculation discussions, but they are I guess worth mentioning.

Candyman is a possibility cause of the 30th anniversary and it’s reboot. But the original is owned by Tristar Pictures and I’m not sure if it’s obtainable. The reboot is a Universal film, so I guess it would be easy to obtain, right?

Universal (at a corporate decision making level) really doesn’t care about the anniversary of IPs that aren’t their own. So maybe The Thing could hold some weight if the film division chooses to promote it somehow… but that’s a big “if.”

You could convince me that something could happen with Candyman - though I don’t see how you adapt that - but it’d only be the new movie.

if hellraiser was based on the first movie, how would they do it? what rooms to do? the first movie for the most part isn't as crazy as the sequel and the cenobites only show up for a tiny tiny bit.
most of hellraiser takes place in the house where not that much happens until the end,

I wouldn't sleep on Lost Boys. Besides Gremlins (which has its own issues), the best known 80s horror property left to do. Lends itself to a house rather easily, except maybe the boardwalk, but Us made that work. Done right could attract the thirsty Eddie fans -- vampire sax player would have multiple Twitter tribute accounts. And owned by WB, who are probably open to playing ball again after their own haunt failed.
