I mean, I get it. I don't necessarily agree, but it is frustrating that Jack is the only icon that UOR Marketing ever allows to have the spotlight.

Ironically by giving him the spotlight several times he's become the most valuable one to continue giving the spotlight to.

Also, I think his original debut cemented him in the minds of everyone

Also also, he's a clown and people think clowns are scurry so he's easy to remember I guess

Well, if there's any sign that nature is healing and HHN is certainly back, it's a leak like this! XD

Anyways, Jack has always been the go-to for marketing whether you like it not. An in a anniversary year and a year hiatus of HHN and he's having his own show, it's easy to see why they'd use him again to kick off the main stretch of announcements.

Either way, we're getting close now. Just a couple more days!

Him or Beetle taking the reigns of a Bill and Ted type show has always made sense to me

The end of the leak video definitely looks like new filming/ content of jack. He had something clown-like around his neck and could see the polka dots on his outfit. Maybe they’re showcasing his multiple different outfits since his debut 20 years back. Hopefully this week we get a nice stand alone picture/ website update with the video.

I'm not expecting a Bill & Ted type show for a variety of reasons, I see more of an expanded Carnival of Carnage show with some specialty acts intermixed with it.

I hear ya lol

The comedic type show contrasted with the rest of the even always felt like peanut butter & chocolate to me

But B&T lived and died on its writing and there were several years it just simply bombed

Either way, it will be nice to see an HHN specific show...as long as it's not in the middle of the friggin road outside of Hollywood

I love the characters of Bill and Ted. But from what I can tell the show had become “hey, we’re acknowledging that this exists, isn’t that hilarious?!”

I remember watching the Bill and Ted shows on YT recently and thinking that they just weren’t that funny or entertaining compared to what I had seen of the previous shows. As important as the Bill and Ted show was to HHN history, I’m happy it’s done as it was just falling in quality with every year.

It had a great run for sure and there were a lot of years that were downright hysterical

You could tell it needed to die towards the end

Yep. It was like Seltzer and Friedberg were writing them by the end.

I mean part of the humor came from the timing as well. Things people had be talking about or seeing through the year. So in that moment, some of the jokes were just at their peak. For example, you know they would do something about Agatha if the show were happening. A lot of pop culture within the year just doesn’t age well or the appeal is gone years later.

I completely get the need for timeliness, but big difference between doing it right and doing it wrong. Deadpool coming out on stage and saying, "I'm a self referential superhero!" and nothing more is the best example of what I'm talking about. I'm guessing increasingly strict copyright rules had something to do with it.

An example from the directors referenced:

Part of me wonders if they couldn't pull off a funny show that doesn't involve pop culture references...heaven forbid

It depends on who you ask. Part of me says H3. It could be Creepshow. Since it’s the only house under construction, and it’s one of the more secure locations, leaks are slow and inconsistent at best.

Man, I’m really torn between Creepshow and H3. Creepshow lends itself easier as a haunted house with more characters and I love the movie. H3 is also awesome but tall dapper Irish robots would be difficult to manage. It’ll most likely be a very creator driven house like the last scene of Hollywood’s H2 maze and that makes me excited…

Creepshow would be #10 on my Hypelist right now. Halloween III would be #5.

Regarding Bill & Ted, I thought it got tired towards the end...but mostly because I was 40-something and 75% of the references flew over my head the last few years of the show. The "internet fails" video was more entertaining than the show one year for me. Some of the earlier years, it was my favorite part of the event. Guess from others comments it wasn't solely me aging out of the show, but that it lost some of it's magic.

The Bill and Ted slander in this thread is ridiculous and I won’t stand for it.

The show was designed to be the opposite of timeless. It was a new show every year for that exact reason. Did they always hit? No, but they were always fun, high energy, and everyone involved looked like they were having a blast. The event has been lesser without them
