And the Carrie in the zone very publicly quit (long post on Facebook) because of the abuse and harassment she was repeatedly receiving from guests.

Now, she was purely a scarezone performer—so she didn’t have a court of escorts protecting her, but it does justify caution.

@Staggz was saying "“girl with regular clothes and some blood and I just don’t see how that’s necessarily something people are going to be drawn to like Art.”

but my point was, we literally had that with Carrie...
it was just "girl on dress with blood"

everyone knew who it was
everyone wanted a photo

I see your point for sure, but as crazy as it sounds, the amount of blood on Carrie and the specifics of it is pretty telling. Sounds like a cop out from me, and I’m not saying you’re wrong by any means, I’m willing to see how it goes clearly and I certainly hope it’s successful. But, you could put Carrie out today and I think my parents, my generation, and my brothers generation would all know exactly who it was. I just don’t see that happening with Nikki but I absolutely think it may be possible obviously, we’ll just have to see. I think beyond this year, there’s a very slim chance she will be identifiable, which is why they felt the need to throw something like this together last minute (because there won’t be another opportunity), but again that’s just me. The issue isn’t whether Nikki’s costume is elaborate. Carrie proves that a simple costume can absolutely work. The difference is that Carrie’s blood-soaked prom dress is an iconic image that functions as visual shorthand for the character. Nikki doesn’t necessarily have that same level of instantly recognizable visual identity. If you remove the context and put both characters 50 feet away in a crowd, Carrie has a much better chance of being recognized purely from her appearance. That’s the distinction between a simple costume and an iconic costume.

That being said, a scarezone like the one Carrie was in, or even similar to the Blumhouse zone in Orlando, I think would work well for Obsession. A photo op would be my #1 best option for it, then #2 would be a small part of a scarezone like the above, then #3 would be a small part of a house like the horrors of blumhouse one, and then I think a walk around character may be the second to worst idea for the franchise other than having just a full out house dedicated to it, but I’m certainly willing to be proven wrong at the event and I really hope I am, I’m open minded about it.

the only thing I can tell you is that because of social media and people tagging and using hashtags, I think I can see everyone knowing who she is really quickly. recognizing her immediately.

tiktok and Instagram will probably be full of clips of the character in the area and people will wanna see.

I can understand your point that the character is not that recognizable visually, but the hype and tagging will definitely show everyone online who she is
( then people will gather around her at the park and the people that don't know who she is will still Realize she's a character of the park just from other people taking pictures and video

even the people that never watched obsession will gather round to see what's happening. take pics

Also the Death eater seem to be officially announced for HHN

So many Scarezones areas this yeah, its cool that basically every corner of this park will have something moving around in the dark trying to scare you

Unmasking the Horror tour tickets are up! And only $20, which is surprisingly low for what I was expecting.

Was just coming to say this. However, unlike Orlando, same day park admission is required. A real bummer

$20 is a shockingly fair price given the lack of included admission. I'll call that a win.

Also: The Hollywood Reporter swinging in with a surprisingly measured take on the Obsession of it all, including a callout to our very own Inside Universal!

I thought the best part of MSS aside from all of the announcements was the "fan" embarrassing himself in front of everyone on the Scream panel telling Mathew Lillard how he's no longer a fan.

That guy had so much beef with Matt Lillard you could feed the entire room with it.
