If I had to guess, I think next year's Latin America house might be based on Chupacabra. Not necessarily an adaption of Orlando's house (except maybe in name), but perhaps Murdy's own take on it.

While I know they are keen to repeat houses, and I'm sure we will see La Llorona again at some point, the event seems to exercise at least some restraint. While I do expect there will be some repeated houses next year, I don't foresee them using La Llorona two years in row. That really wouldn't go over well.

I agree that I don’t want to see La Llorona again either, but I’m going to play devil’s advocate here.

The GP is not going to care. If anything I’m sure they went through Monstrous thinking “Hey I want to see a full-blown house on La Llorona.” I’m sure a good chunk of them haven’t been through the 2022 house.

Another thing to consider is that they’re kinda running out of houses to repeat. If you’re going to have some expensive IPs, you need to repeat a house with the most accessible reusable assets that hasn’t been repeated yet and La Llorona would fit that bill. Yeah the fans will complain but they’ll be willing to forgive it if the rest of the line up sounds great, especially if that’s the one repeat we get.

Technically not Latin America! (Although they could definitely change the setting).

I do agree that they are starting to run out of popular original houses to repeat, but I feel that there are still options. While not a true "repeat", I imagine that a lot of the props and costumes from The Exterminatorz Terror Tram could be reused for a house. I also think it's fairly likely that we could see more repeats of Universal-owned IP like Universal Monsters, Chucky, Us, or Exorcist Believer (I don't know why Universal is still pushing this film, but they seem keen to do so). HHN also seems to have a good relationship with Sony in particular, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an appearance of Insidious: The Further or The Last of Us repeating again.

They had a good thing going with the "scarezone -> house" pipeline, and they should really consider doing another. Hell-O-Ween would be a fun one.

They should also do another Orlando import. El Artista or Graveyard Games, as mentioned, both would be great.

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween season here’s the annual super early spec map I do every year

Once again just a disclaimer I don’t have any insider info this is just purely from my mind.

H1: Resident evil- the series turns 30 and the new resident evil requiem is a celebration of the franchise, a perfect opportunity to have an HHN house celebrating the franchise

H2:chupacabra - Murdy said he wants to continue the Latin American legends with a new concept and I think chupacabra could be a fun house concept, he’s one of the only monsters from Pueblo de terror to not be represented in a monstruos house.

H3:Scream, I think it’s time, scream 7 comes out next year, and with Ghostface appearing in mortal kombat and Fortnite it seems the rights-holders are more open to collaboration now everything is kinda lining up.

H4: Creepshow, gotta have a repeat

H5:Hellraiser, Murdy said he had a treatment that hasn’t been at the event ever before and he’s wanted to do for a while, this fits the bill

H6:Dark Christmas, Murdy said he was working on an original that pulled inspiration from a prior house, that prior house could be holidayz in hell. He also said he researched early 80s synth horror film soundtracks that could’ve been Gremlins and Silent Night Deadly night to get that Christmas horror vibe

H7:Stranger Things, the franchise turns ten years old next year if you can believe it

H8. FNAF 2 , feels like a no brainer IMG_7378.jpeg

So into those Orlando import ideas.

I agree on the scarezone to house pipeline. I've always thought Spirits & Demons of the East would make a great house.

That’d be really funny. I don’t think you can pull off that kinda scale in Parisian courtyard though. Also el artista takes place in Spain so they’d have to change the location to make it Latin American

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but historically speaking, whenever the event has had a really good year, it has almost always been followed up by an “okay” year to “straight-up bad” year.”

2016 (Great year) > 2017 (Bad year)
2019 (Solid year) > 2021 (Abysmal year)
2023 (GOATed year) > 2024 (Okay year)

Could next year finally break that pattern? I hope so. While I don’t think 2024 was anywhere near as bad as some of y’all make it out to be, I’m sure they held back on the IPs that year due to the impending opening of Epic the following year. This has been the most successful year yet and with that Hellraiser rumor in the running, that’s already a good sign.

To be fair, outside factors were a major contributing factor to this, which would be putting it lightly...

Couldn’t disagree with you more on 2023,2024 but I do agree on keeping our expectations low for next year. Especially considering how such a repeat heavy year as this year was so well received. They may have learned the wrong lesson here

I don’t think this is a legit pattern we can read into. 2021 was abysmal because of factors completely out of USH’s control, and I completely disagree on 2023-2024. I thought 23 was good and 24 was great. It’s all very subjective.

Idk, I also just have a good feeling about next year.

I will say this year for me is hard to top

Not saying they can't but there is work to be done behind the scenes in getting Scream....to me its a big key for next year

FNAF if it comes back could make it where they just coast and make money no matter what but in terms of what fans want...its Scream and ghostface.

That is what people want next and this year they listened to fans...and look at the one of the best events ever.
