Literally. These HHN spec threads ALWAYS go the same every year. Whether it's Orlando or Hollywood it doesn't matter it's always the same lol. The cycle continues

Remind me again as I’m not familiar with Hollywood locations, where’s the supposed “scarecrow” house?

I think the problem Chris might be having is that outside of Terrifier…nothing is really truly “Horror” in the way that other IPs have been.

It feels like we are going to see them embrace the “Dark Ride” format that has been established with A Quiet Place, Chucky: UKC and Stranger Things 4. And for some that might be a very understandable problem, especially as four of the rumored IPs feel more pointed for vignette sequences and setpieces more than intending to scare.

Could be possible that I am wrong, but I get a safe feeling with 4 of the 5 IPs rumored sofar.

^ Nailed it.

And I have literally, never said that I'd contemplate skipping before @saint.piss, so to finally say that this year, coming from ME, is really saying a lot because there is usually at least ONE property/ attraction I can look forward to. So please quote me and I'll take it all back?

Seems like the lineup right now is Fallout, Scarecrow, Terrifier, Isla De Las Muñecas, WWE, Poltergeist, and FNAF with Terror Tram including Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Honestly, not too excited for the rumored lineup but oh well. Might just save up for another Epic trip instead of going to the event this year.

With every day that passes, Poltergeist looks more and more likely to be the light bulb location. Apart from that, a ghost on a light bulb? That screams Poltergeist activity to me

Also, Poltergeist has both ghosts and the whole "into the light" motif - feels like that is obviously what the symbol represents.

Let's take the temperature down a bit. I'll take you at your word that you've never personally said you were thinking about skipping. I also think it was fair for saint.piss to point out that, like clockwork, quite a few people suggest they'll skip any given year based on the speculated IP lineup six months out, but I also get it feels unfair to single you out when you've never actually been party to that.

I also think your reasons for not being enthusiastic at the speculated lineup are valid. It's frustrating to see an ongoing thing you love move in a direction that's contrary to your interests/preferences.

Fair, apologies as well to @saint.piss, I meant no ill will, just felt that a generalization of my lack of enthusiasm for this year's event which I have been eager about in the past, was blanketed as a tendency rather than an exception.

The crowd it would bring would be annoying but I think a FNAF house could be cool. Only thing in the lineup groan worthy is terrifier.

Definitely not calling anyone out or anything - I wasn't a fan of e.g. The Frozen Empire house - but it is kinda funny how over the decade, we went from being dissatisfied by cheap, black wall-heavy houses to being dissatisfied by expensive, animatronic-heavy houses. New era, new problems I guess.

Honestly if it wasn’t for my plans wanting to focus in on a 2026 trip for the 35th Anniversary of Orlando (and the 20th of Hollywood), I would also be somewhat disappointed in not being able to see Fallout and Poltergeist. Even if I detest the other as a film, I would’ve loved to see what Murdy and co would do when retouching upon the original film and what made it iconic.

WWE I could care less of.

I'll admit that I was brought to HHN just for Michael back in 2015, but now I've stayed and enjoyed multiple aspects of the event. the IPs are always cool to see, but I am just happy to be there, I'll find something to like from every house, zones, trams, even if its small. Its theatrics and I'm all for that now.
Plus I'll be doing HHN a little differently this year, so I'll be able to appreciate it from a different light, (if things go right). It's my favorite event, but I know it's not for everyone, friends I've brought over the years, some want more, others get fed up with it after 1 year. so if u fall off of it, it just isn't ur cup of tea anymore, and that's cool, there's other cool stuff out there in the entertainment industry. Like that Renfaire in Irwindale, wasn't my kinda thing but its cool for those who go and I see the passion.

You see, that's the funny part, with how they've been handling returning mazes, it feels like Poltergeist this year will be practically the same maze as 2018 and, while I did like it, that's a whole maze slot that could have been used for something else. A major part as to why the 2018 one can be remembered fondly by many is because of the actors. The actors MADE that house in 2018 and, with how things have been going ever since last year, that same energy may not be present this year as it was back then.

I don’t know how you can jump to this conclusion when there is literally nothing in the rumor mill that indicates anything other than “we may be getting Poltergeist again”.
