I have to admit the art has me intrigued. I can see this really popping in Central Park if the art is representative of what we have to look forward to.

I started thinking of some of the really colorful costumes in the Jungle of Doom scare zone from 2023. Very vibrant and the zone was spectacular at night.

If it doesn’t work, oh well. It’s a small zone and the children need somewhere to play.

Not saying Marty is like this, but I've noticed a certain level of parasocial relationship to this event that adding Fortnite is some sort of PERSONAL affront to their sesnabilites. It's a halloween event, not a wedding.

If the whole event turned into the theme of Fortnight, that would be a fine reaction. I'd be saying the same thing, but it's one scarezone that you can just walk through. Sheesh.

I have zero interest in Fortnight, but if this is like Anarcade taking over a town with traditional Halloween costumes I think it could be awesome.

The way I'm looking at it, this is just the "spooky Halloween vibes" zone this year - just like Crooked Lane last year. Was Crooked Lane scary? It wasn't, and you're lying to yourself if you say it was lol

What you mean? Human size cats are terrifying!

All I could think of in that zone was Sal from Impractical Jokers :lmao: :lmao:

I was ambivalent before the concept art was released and now this may be my most anticipated zone. It looks unique, I'm interested in seeing how it shakes out.

It doesn't look like a Zombieland which is all I want

It can't be worse than CryptTV, Altars of Horror, The Harvest, Duality of Fear or Enter The Blumhouse right? There's at least a significant attempt being made here versus just slapping the logo on a board, some music, a few gobo lights and calling it a day. I'm interested in seeing how it all plays out. (I also think the placement is odd as I would have imagined it would be placed somewhere where the lagoon show wouldn't interfere every hour).

With that said, I am begging UOR to debut their version of Fan Fest Nights (maybe even a video game specific event). I think this would help reduce the need to "push" IPs that fit better elsewhere than HHN. I think Fortnite as a brand would draw far more people to a game-themed event versus a horror event.

Maybe but also Fallout and Fortnite did not come to either Fan Fest

I know Orlando might be different but for now Fan Fest is very light on gaming stuff..its basically Yoshi and D&D which really isn't a video game

But also Resident Evil, Dead Space and bio Shock I think would work better at HHN then Fan Fest

I'm suggesting a new Fan Fest-like event targeted at gamers, not necessarily a copy of Fan Fest from USH. I just think that having game-specific IPs will be stronger at a gaming-specific event versus a broader Halloween event.

If this year doesn't draw in more kids, I'll shut up about it and admit I was mistaken.

We realize that “Hell Week” only exists because that’s when the kids are off for school, right? There’s literally a week known for having too many guests that solely exists because of the existence of children at the event. Kids have always been here and that’s fine.

I’ve been doing HHN since 14, HOS since 13, and small local haunts since way younger. I mean, damn. I saw an elementary schooler cosplaying Art last year going through the Terrifier house. HHN isn’t some mythical 18+ event nor has it ever been. I truly don’t get the argument.

You’re probably looking at the same type crowd as FNAF.

Gonna be THAT nerd to point out D&D games are around just under different names. Baulders Gate and Neverwinter Nights are both D&D game series. I speculate it's easier to just license from WotC than work with them AND devs.

Sure but this has ZERO connection with that

If you had an RE event but it was just Zombies with no characters from the games...then whats the point?

At least at Fan Fest it feels connected to the main D&D campaign that you'd play with your friends and not a video game

This is off topic so i'll drop it after this. I do get your point but the extreme customization of D&D puts it in a uinque position of being more about things and concepts over characters.

Man, the comments on the Twitter machine are savage--Reddit even worse (tho I did like "HHN Daycare Zone").

All for a photo op zone--it's not like we lost the next "Wicked Growth" for this. And as I've said before, I'd rather an interesting failure than a boring, by-the-numbers mid effort. One way or another, this at least should be memorable.

Honestly, it doesn't look that bad. Yes, Fortnite is a bit of a ridiculous addition, but the costume head looks pretty good. I was initially appalled at the anouncement. However, if HHN could have Fear Factor in 2002 and Ghostbusters in 2019, then I can give this a try. If anything, I can look back on this twenty years from now and say "Remember when they Fortnite at HHN, yeah that was crazy lol."
