Had a co-worker who went to Epic Universe and she said the handwich was the highlight of her day. Glad to see they're doubling down.

Is there a place/site that has the current restaurant hours?

Uni's app and website both do not (as far as I can see).

Making commando-style plans for Epic for Friday and Sunday, and want to pencil La Sirene in. The website menu only lists "Lunch" - is this one of the restaurants that closes early?

Heh, the attractions operate like a lottery, guess the restaurants can too..........Seriously, that's kind of a dead end in the park, so they might not be doing well. When we went in November the small coffee/ type restaurant in the back never opened on either of the Sundays we went. They probably wing it depending on the crowds.

Finally made it to some of the more talked about food places and most did not disappoint! Oak & Star breakfast was fantastic. Seasoned fries with breakfast? Weird, but it works. (Was there Old Bay in those?) All the platters were very nicely balanced. Mango bread was a nice dessert after the rest of the meals. Speechless Astronomer went well with breakfast too.

Pizza Moon was incredible. Portions were larger than anticipated and the crust was so good. Vesuvio was my favorite by far, but the Ube crust one and the Cowboy were great too. This place is still jam packed with families trickling over from SNW mid-day. Lots of half finished cheese and pepperoni pizzas left on all the tables with kids.

Blue Dragon unfortunately was a total bust. Not sure if it was the reservation about a half hour before park close, but everything felt thrown together with scraps being stretched to last until the end of the day and was easily the most disappointing thing all day. Double Fried Wings were not as crunchy nor spicy as expected but not too bad. Peanut Shrimp Noodles were absolutely swimming in a sauce that seemed way too watery and lacking in flavor. It was more of a broth than a sauce, making the shrimp more soggy than crispy. Very disappointing. The Pad Thai at Confisco is so much better and about double the portion size. Beef Broccoli was just terrible though. It only had very tiny dime-sized pieces of beef and hardly any broccoli florets. It had about three times as many large leafy parts than florets to the point where I thought it was spinach leaves. Not at all what was advertised and many of the tiny beef pieces were overdone. Both the Szechuan Smash and Golden Dragon drinks were pretty good though, as was the banana dessert so those helped. But man, the food we selected was just terrible :(

Oak & Star is one of the more pleasant surprises of Epic's already strong food lineup. While the theme park fan in me usually wants the more overtly "theme park-y" places like Das Stakehaus or the Wizarding World eateries, the great food and chill vibes (live music!) of Oak & Star have made it a favorite for us.

Oak and Star was kind of an afterthought for us prior to visiting, I just knew it was the only breakfast option so I knew we'd end up there.

Now it's a must-do for every visit. Theme park breakfast should not be that good lol

The ironic thing is that I always felt Universal Orlando's weak spot was food. Sure there are some decent options, but as a USH local, it felt like the only worthwhile food spots could also be found in Hollywood (Three Broomsticks, Toadstool, Minions Cafe, Springfield). Epic Universe has the total opposite problem: There are now too many descent food options.

I just went with the food options I really wanted. Tried the Al Pastor dog from Cosmic Dogs (Name?). Not bad. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get it again, especially with the price, but it was something different. I love me some al pastor so I dig the creativity.

Mac and cheese cone was great, but was disappointed with the filling and bread ratio. Would I get it again once I go back eventually? Yeah, I would. I'm the problem I know. I just wish it had more filling. Liked it better than the al pastor dog. I got the lemon chicken one and the chicken went amazing with the mac and cheese.

Went to Das Stakehaus for dinner and got the prime rib. Portion was not bad for a theme park and the meat was cooked perfectly. Just wish i had some salt I could put on there.

Also tried the Reaper's Reserve from the Burning Windmill and that drink is great! I love me some dark ale so that was a win for me.

Finally I tried the cinnamon donut holes from the snack hut at Dark Universe. It was fine. Just some donut holes with cream cheese frosting.

That's all the food I got to try. Next time I hope to eat at Pizza Moon for lunch as I have heard great things about it. Also hope to visit the French cafe for dinner and get the french onion soup. There's a lot of food I want to try next time I get back over there. One thing Disney has always held over Universal was the food game. I'm glad they have stepped it up significantly at this park. They seem to be addressing that with the latest developments at IoA so hopefully they do the same at those parks as well. EU is def the best park for food at the resort.

Pizza Moon absolutely needs to be a priority.

Also - Star Sui Bao is a super underrated one too

Same, though I missed their holiday one by a couple of days. The ones we did get (the year-round ones) were so good, but I really wish I'd been able to try the holiday one. This one sounds good (though not a fan of Flamin' Hot Cheetos).

One of the things that's impressed me over the last 10-15 years is how Universal has stepped up their food game. It used to be standard theme park fare, which is fine, but the options they've brought in over the years have allowed their Chefs to really shine IMO. It all started with HP, obviously, but I think the addition of Springfield helped them go to the next level (a beer on the lagoon is always a treat). The new restaurants at Citywalk have also been great (Cowfish, Bread Box, etc.)

I didn't get to enjoy as much of Epic Universe's food as I would've liked earlier in the year, but what I did get to try was pretty good. The HP restaurant was top notch and I could eat a Butterbeer crepe every day. Wife and I did an evening at Atlantic and I thought that was such am amazing experience.

Next time (maybe this Fall), we want to do more of the food options around Celestial Park as well as in Dark Universe. I'm drooling just thinking about it.
