Apricot Lane boutique now open at Downtown Disney

Apricot Lane carries branded fashion apparel, jewelry, handbags and accessories. Brands carried include Miss Me, Free People, Vintage Havana, Chaser and Good Works Make a Difference.

“Many of the designer labels found in Apricot Lane are worn by celebrities and seen in the pages of current fashion magazines,” said Founder and CEO Ken Petersen. “We are excited to give the millions of guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort a place where they can replicate those looks.”

A fresh look at Splitsville – restaurant/bowling alley coming to Downtown Disney
*snip*

New artwork has been released showing off an updated exterior for Splitsville, currently under construction in Downtown Disney Westside. Splitsville will feature bowling, billiards, dining and more when it opens this fall.

Splitsville will be a 45,000 square-foot facility with two floors of 30 lanes of bowling. It will also feature patio dining, live music, billiards and more. Some of the menu items include hand-tossed pizza, fresh-rolled sushi and hand-cut filet sliders served right at the lane. The Tampa location is pictured below.

*snip*

Along with a great hang out spot for friends and family, the day and nighttime venue also will be available for birthday parties and corporate events.

For more information about Splitsville, you can visit their website at splitsvillelanes.com. They currently have two other Florida locations, one in Tampa and one in Miami. The Downtown Disney Splitsville takes over the former Ridemakerz and Virgin Mega Store spot.

More about the updated Basin store from Disney Parks Blog

A Reimagined Basin Reopens at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort
Check out this shopping list: Almonds, cranberry, vanilla, oatmeal, honey, and sea salt. No, we’re not making cookies – those are just some of the natural ingredients used to create the fresh-cut soaps available at Basin, the bath and beauty shop at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort.

Basin recently reopened after a refresh that included the addition of an oversized sink where as many as eight guests can simultaneously try out the all-natural salt body scrubs. The new Basin centerpiece is topped with a Mickey Mouse that was carved from a 250-pound block of soap.

Here’s a tour through the refreshed location:

From Disney Parks Blog

Details are beginning to emerge about the look and feel of the new Splitsville location we told you is coming to Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort this fall, and I’m happy to share with you all of the latest developments.

This new Splitsville is going to be their first two-level venue and, at 50,000 square feet, will be the largest one in the country – in fact, almost twice the size of any of the other four locations. And it’s going to feature 30 bowling lanes, again nearly twice as many as at any other Splitsville.

This Splitsville will also have a balcony with outdoor seating, as well as billiard tables and live entertainment, making it an ideal place for some family fun outside of the theme parks. Like other Splitsvilles, this one will serve upscale food and beverages, including sushi, amid a stylish interior that features both hip and retro décor elements. Suffice it to say, this is not going to be your father’s bowling alley.

Construction is already well underway at its location in the heart of Downtown Disney near the AMC Downtown Disney 24. Expect a grand opening sometime this fall to mark the arrival of the newest entertainment option among the stream of fresh and fun family experiences that have been added lately to Downtown Disney.

Four years ago today, Disney announced Pleasure Island would be closing.

Four years and we still have no idea what's replacing it.:bang:

I say flatten the whole island and put in a bunch of sparkley well themed carnival rides. Give Pleasure Island an overall Victtorian/ Pinocchio theme, Of course there would have to be an old school wooden rollercoaster and a Ferris Wheel. Throw in Goofy's Sky School. And the selling point for the Fanbois? You will have to buy tickets to for the rides. Or you can buy a book of tickets. A tickets for the ankle bitter rides. E Tickets for the Roller Coaster. You get the picture.

FYI, the Characters in Flight balloon has disappeared from DTD and all mention of it has been removed from the WDW site.

I'm guessing it had to do with the crash in Hong Kong.

I doubt we ever see it come back.

The DTD balloon was created by the same company that created Hong Kongs.

Seems likely. Which begs the question, do they tear the kiosk down or surround it with plants?
