A few thoughts on Walt Disney A Magical Life.....

I saw it on Thursday.....

Iger's narration was "meh"....OK....but I'd rather have Julie Andrews doing it. I think it would have differentiated Walt's voice better.

I sat 3rd row on the right side facing Walt.....the animatronic looked much better in person. His facial expressions and movement were very good. I think that some of the pics of him are when his eyes were wide open with eyebrows raised.....that is the only brief moment when it he didn't quite look like Walt.....maybe they can tweak that a bit.

The biggest issue I had with it......the volume on his voice needed to be louder. He sounded a bit "tinny" and muffled.

Overall a really enjoyable day at Disneyland. Huge lines to the garage and to get into the park.....made it in around 8:30.......did a roundtrip around the park on the train to start.......hit up classics Alice, Snow White and Pinocchio. Went on M & M Railway.....sailed on the Mark Twain.......saw the show around 3. Bought the new Walt with Desk figure that plays his opening day speech (nice!). Ate an early dinner at the Plaza Inn......then back to SD.

We checked out the Tiki Room for the first time since it reopened from refurbishment and it looks great. Definitely some new, natural lighting in here.

The space next to Pieces of Eight is a store again. Lots of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff, including park-specific merch which I don’t recall seeing much of before.

Road Tiana’s and everything was working perfectly. That final scene really is spectacular when it all works.

Bit of a line to get into the garage this morning, but the crowds were well dispersed around the park. Definitely getting more crowded as we left — but the weather was cooperative and gave us gray skies until noon. With a four month old, that’s all I could ask for.

Yes that final scene of Tiana is spectacular. I never thought they could equal the original final scene, but they did.
