I’m hoping they get rid of Curse sometime in the far off future and replace it with a stage show instead. That + Gill Man dark ride would really round out the land, imo.

Werewolf coaster takes up so much space and is ugly in comparison to what they were able to do with the village area.

I can them updating the coaster in the near future but getting rid of it definitely not.

DU needs a third attraction and it will be complete in my view.

I had some thoughts on how to improve the ending for Curse of the Werewolf. First, I think a more substantial final scene with an extended tunnel entry to allow better light control would be great. There's room on the other side of the track, so the vehicles could be turned the other direction as seen in this aerial image:
Aerial view of Curse of the Werewolf with backstage area that could be used for final scene.
Werewolf_Final-Scene.png
But...then I got thinking of what could enhance the story of the attraction and it occurred to me that there's an opportunity to gamify the experience, in a way. Gamification is happening elsewhere in the park (specifically Super Nintendo World, and Ministry of Magic wands) and gamification is happening elsewhere at UOR. A touch of light gamification -- or at least some outcome-variability -- could be fun, as follows:

In the queue, there are thematic references to
FATE, such as this fortune telling cards vignette, and the whole Mystic camp vibe evokes fortune-tellers and "mystical" qualities.
CotW_FateCards.png
So...what if on every ride of Curse of the Werewolf, ONE of the five vehicles in the train is attacked by a werewolf! And it's random which one. Here's how it would work, and how it could be the feature moment of the final scene:

This idea doesn't require the enlarged final scene area as shown above (it could fit in the current space) but I do think an extended tent tunnel to block the light (and other blocking of light-spill elsewhere into the final scene) would help a lot. When the train pulls into the final scene, it would be dark. Riders would hear the loud surround-sound of a prowling werewolf circling around them, but where will it strike??

Suddenly a fierce howl of a werewolf would be heard and then ONE of the five vehicles would randomly get a blast of cold air from above (there would be five air-blasters, one above each vehicle), and simultaneously an intense red blood-splatter light gobo/projection would also blast that vehicle. THAT's the car that is attacked!

The riders in that vehicle will scream (certainly because of the air blast) and everyone else will feel both relieved and will laugh. Which means instead of the "uhh, what's this?" meh reaction to the existing final scene, this new experience will be filled with exuberance, screaming, laughter, and fun. And everyone in the queue will hear it, and it will create a fun vibe in the queue.

In the final scene there could be a massive ornate framed mirror so all riders in the train can see the attack happen to the ill-fated vehicle (a little like seeing the nearby vehicles in the mirrors at the end of Disney's Haunted Mansion). It would allow riders to poke fun the attacked riders/strangers for some post-ride exiting social energy, and it would encourage re-riding to see if you can ever get attacked. Mostly it will provide a memorable conclusion to the ride and also "finish the story" that all the queue build-up and attraction is about. I mean, it's a werewolf ride, someone should get attacked!

Darkmoor is fantastic, but it is pretty small. To quickly (and cheaply) expand the area and add overall capacity, I would love them to add a highly themed HHN-style walk through / scare-zone type area. I'd theme it to Monster Hunters vs Vampires, with plenty of victims mixed in. I'd also preferably have it enclosed like Knockturn Ally to make it dark and scary, possibly with canvas covered tunnels, but I understand that this would make it more costly. I'd place it in the future expansion area, with the entry between the manor and windmill (near the food stand). They could create the pathways and theming in such a way that much of it could be used for a future expansion (for example, a pathway and extended queue for a full scale ride).

Anyone have the full song? (And maybe clear audio?)

This video from Magic With Meg is the only video or reference I can find to this song. Clip shows one of the Monster Hunters singing in the Burning Blade tavern.

Edit:
Unrelated to my post above but I found this and thought it was awesome:

This past Thursday I spent about 90% of my day in Darkmoor, took some of that time to just sit and listen to the music loop, it's beautiful. Somber, gloomy, hopeless, epic (pun not intended). Danny Elfman killed it.

Also, cannot express enough how great the characters are. I was dressed as Dracula for my visit, and got a lot of great interactions out of it:
  • Bride letting out a full gut-wrenching scream upon seeing me, with her and Monster being scared the entire meet-n-greet, and questioning what my plans are for Darkmoor and if I'm allied with Dracula.

  • Ygor being terrified and shouting "NO, NO! I KNOW NOT TO TALK TO VAMPIRES, I'VE LEARNED THAT LESSON!"

  • One of the monster hunters having a lengthy conversation with me about if all vampires truly are monsters, and what exactly is a monster.

  • Invisible Man talking with me about how the monocaine was affecting my vampire abilities.

  • And lots of great interactions from team members around, especially in Unchained- upon entering the castle a TM being taken aback and yelling out "ONE OF THE VAMPIRES HAS ESCAPED!", the servers in Stakehaus welcoming me as a fellow and asking if I wanted extra blood on my steak, Werewolf team members acting aggressive (not actually of course, a fun in-character way) because they feared I was coming to kill the werewolves, and all around the park TMs in other lands making in-character comments about my outfit.

Also, some new ambient sound effects added around the land (or just never heard it before), one of which was footsteps and laughing for Invisible Man!!!

I’m a huge fan of waxwork records which pressed it. I have over 30 of their titles on vinyl!

With it being the final stretch before opening, I think this is what needs the most attention in Darkmoor:
  • Victoria meet-n-greet! It's insane she isn't a walkaround character.

  • For nighttime only, Dracula meet-n-greet as well. I know some people might say they can't since he's locked up in the manor, but the Monster is also out and about. Just say he's able to break loose at night (or go the D&D path and say he's an astral projection or something, idk just make it happen!). Would love to see more of the monsters also become meet-n-greet/walkaround characters, but I think for the time being Victoria and Drac should take priority.

  • Fix the Werewolf finale. Now.

  • More trees in the back half of the land to better cover sightlines.

  • And of course iron out the primary issues with Unchained (lighting and consistent effects). There's of course a lot of things I personally would love to see added or changed, but being realistic and objectively, those are the two things on that ride that need the most attention.

  • Make the music a bit louder. I don't know if it's just me being so hypnotized by the land and manor itself and drowning it out, but the music is still not that audible. That soundtrack is beautiful and everyone needs to hear it!

^I don't think we need to meet Victoria. Isn't the story/lore we don't know what's going on in the manor and it's rumors she's in there and starting experimenting all over again? I don't think she's presented as a friendly neighbor or local hero to have meet and greets. It's like she's moving in the shadows
