Exactly what CityWalk needed.

Them going out of the way to not replace an existing structure on the upper level is interesting. Category 10 was the highlight of my Nashville trip, very exited.

It’s a home run for Universal. I wonder if this will involve the demise of Rising Star and Hot Dog Hall of Fame in addition to the preview center?

Hmmmm now I’m wondering if Universal HR is scrambling because employees obviously haven’t been told their location is closing.

Well hopefully that is accurate for the sake of everyone’s jobs.

Oh never mind it’s an entire new structure constructed on the waterfront across from Bigfire / Margaritaville. My apologies.

Not a part of this project... but I could see this as the first phase of another CityWalk renovation project... primarily aimed at the upper level?

I think the waterfront at CityWalk has been begging for major redevelopment, excited to see what happens. People love waterfront dining. Summer House does good business at Disney Springs simply because it's lakeside.

They just approved major capex for Pat O’Brien improvements, only things I could see up there on the chopping block would be the movie escape, hot dog Hall of Fame, Fat Tuesday, and the vacant retail space between movie escape and Fat Tuesday

OH-- I thought it looked like a Cowfish replacement! New construction is kind of exciting.

When we went to Marleys in November there were lots of upgrades from the last time we were there a couple years ago. Plus bandstand was redone. We love Marley's. So, I would imagine it stays for a good while....Universal does run it by the way, like they manage Pat O'Brien's.

Still have Red Coconut that's closed half the year, and escape rooms in that giant Groove venue (and, IIRC, space for another whole club between there and Pat O's, according to the original plans). Plenty to expand to before touching a successful venue like that. And with this going on the waterfront, opens up even more potential development spots.

Yeah, I'd also imagine Rising Star could be replaced if the replacement is that big of a sure thing, but these are the most likely spots.

Excited for this if it gets as popular as the Nashville version. Cowboys on OBT must not be happy about this happening.

Outside of a nice line-dancing venue, all CityWalk really needs is an improved fast casual concept (replace the food court please) and a permanently themed bar/lounge.

I'd be shocked if Rising Star goes any time soon. That place is stupid packed on the weekends. Like it's uncomfortable trying just walk to the bathrooms.

My guess is that they'd try to keep Red Coconut around for awhile. It seems that there's a lot of ROI on the themed clubs!

Same here. Not sure how such a big building will go in that space, and I'm assuming it'll block off a large portion of the view of the water (or view of CityWalk if you're looking from the boats or the other side of the water), which is a big bummer. Hopefully it works/looks better than I'm envisioning lol

I love Rising Star (and was just advocating for it a couple pages ago) but i also know Universal has limited space and isn’t shy to replace. If a big time name with a great enough idea comes along that can bring the more traffic, I can SEE that move happening.

The bottom line though is the upper area isn’t exactly hurting.

Looks to Citywalk Orlando getting more nightlife options while USH Citywalk has a closed nightclub they could bring back, sighing longingly...

In all seriousness: The notion of full on expansion of Citywalk Orlando with no major replacing, is fantastic news. This feels like a great win for you guys, and it makes me further interested to see what replaces the Epic Universe Preview Center.

Makes me wonder if you guys might try to hit big and go ambitious with a retail concept to replace the EUPC.

CityWalk Orlando success can probably be largely traced to all those hotel rooms they built.

Hopefully our upcoming Hotel will let us follow suit.

I do wonder when the Preview Center closes. Few of my friends are speculating the potential of a Pokemon Center working here, and I can kind of see the logic behind it.

One hotel will help, but it's still only one hotel.
